Trying to book an appointment for visa renewal, The last couple of years were a joy - apply online for an appointment, prepare all the docs. Check in and 30 minutes later all done and dusted. This year with the introduction of an e-visa I thought it couldn't be better, WRONG! The e-visa does not support a retirement visa application. No appointments possible. Back to the stress of joining a queue, and waiting 5-6 hours for the visa. Such is progress in a 3rd world country. I'm not surprised some people overstay, if you can get away with it - much less hassle.

So you obtained a non O eVisa and received a 90 day stamp on entry?

BTW: it's not visa renewal. You are wanting a 12 month extension to your permission of stay.

What happened when you tried to use appointment link?

There are appointments available for an extension based on retirement. At least there are at CW. It might be useful if you were more clear about what you are trying to apply for "visa renewal" and where.

I just tried to make appointment for retirement extension (it's not a "retirement visa application")

No problem Dec 16....10am.

All that was required in link above was email address for them to send OTP.

Sorry but unless you can tell us WHERE you tried to book an appointment and failed, I'd guess it's more likely a case of the applicant's ineptitude than a 3rd world country issue, as many people manage to book an appointment for a retirement extension.

Your statement that you cannot book an appointment because you have an eVisa is wrong in any case. If you qualify for an extension, it doesn't matter if you have an eVisa or a classic visa sticker.

I am trying at Chaeng Wattana, I follow all the necessary links on their website and they send me a 5 digit OTP. The application process only accepts a 6 digit number, VFS have sent me an email: an online application for extension of retirement visa is now not possible, must go to CW and apply. The links kindly sent to me in this topic go to  a continuous request to verify I am a human being.

I don't think I ever stated that I had an evisa. I know an evisa for retiremrent is not possible. My visa states: an extension of stay for retirement.

The link I post in first reply allows you to make a booking.

I just double checked now.

After selecting "Queue"

Then location of Immigration office

(CW is first on list)

Next is type of service required.

When select "extension retirement "

You are asked to type your email.

Instantly the OTP is sent to your mail.

Enter the digits and next page is a calendar.

If it's blacked out (no white dates) then it's fully booked.

When I tried (pic posted earlier) there were only couple of dates.

I think there is a link on the immigration website for the VFS e-extension service, perhaps that is where some of this confusion is coming from.

Yes.

The OP needs to follow simple steps outlined above.

Seems currently that appointments for extensions are fully booked out for December.

@Suzy be aware that you can obtain extension without an appointment.

I just now posted in another thread a suggestion of time for attending CW without appointment.
