I am getting these McAfee protection adverts all the time everyday on my Laptop. Is there any way I can stop this? I have never had anything to do with them so why are they always bothering me?

This is getting so bad now. Who the f--- are these McAfee b@stards?

Here is a Wikipedia link about them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McAfee

They are a US company started in 1987.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McAfee

This link should get you through to their Customer Service website.

After that you are on your own as only you know what your exact problem is.

From what I found, their contact numbers are only a phone number in the USA or a chatbot site.

Thanks Bill, but there is nothing to get me to their customer service. Surely there must be some method on my laptop I can use to get rid of them.

Perhaps when the next message arrives, you could scroll to the bottom.

There ought to be an unsubscribe link somewhere in the message.

Alternative you may be able to install an ad blocker (free) to block that one source.

Yes there was an unsubscribe link, but that was maybe 2 or 3 months ago, I used it 2 or3 times but it still keeps coming back.

I never subscribed to them in the first place. I will check the ad blocker. Thanks.

Go to add/remove programs, see if it is there, have you an uninstaller, if so, find it there and uninstall..

Yes I have uninstaller, it's not there.

Assuming you are using Chrome.  It may have added an extension to your Chrome browser.  Go to the three dots in the top right corner, then extensions, then check for any McAfee or any other unknown extensions and delete or disable them.

Used to get these McAfee protection adverts pop up every day all the time,

now get 360 total Security Adverts pop up every morning  advising need to upgrade to Pro?  Uninstall + all leftovers , next day it back !!

These pop ups are bottom right in a blue box when starting.. 1st one is fine start time 13 seconds then another

"your Recycle Bin in H drive is corrupt"   DO NOT have a H drive ?

+ your webcam is spying on you ..!  .it is not plugged in and in the draw, use it very rare so only ever plug in it needed.

So appear to be click to fix for x amount of $    I just click on No Thanks or the X, but a pain

Is it something to do with AI nonsense ?

would love to see a screen shot of the pop up, as pop ups of this nature have a tendency to be scams, especially if there is a need to make a telephone call for assistance.

The web browser you use (e.g.- Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc.) has a wide choice of ad-blocker extensions. If you need instructions on how to add an extension to your browser, a search engine (Google Search, DuckDuckGo, Bing, Yahoo Search, Brave Search, Yandex Search, etc.) is your friend.

Web browsers YES  I have them ad-blocker on my web browsers

These pop ups are nothing to do with any Web browsers they pop up as soon as the PC/laptop starts  [NO browsers running]

I personally use Malwarebytes. https://www.malwarebytes.com

It protects you against all kinds of malware (malicious software).

But you would have to avoid using Google Chrome, which was recently changed, so that the Malwarebytes Browser Guard cannot work properly; however, there are plenty of other web browsers you can use besides Google Chrome. Myself, I use Opera browser https://www.opera.com , which I like because it has a built-in VPN (for free).

Again these POP UPs have nothing to fo with any web Browser

They arrive as soon as the PC/laptop starts or as the OS starts to load up

As a side note did a search = 1,000's have the same problem,  also  360 total Security appears to be rated one of the best there is..... so maybe will just not worry about it keep appearing

Some PC's have it installed from new, look for it, then uninstall it. 🤗

Quite correct, also clear your Internet history and regularly clear your cache.

I got rid of it on a friends LT, but I can't remember if it was easy or having to download a McAfee uninstall program or use IObit uninstaller..But it is doable...

As you would with ANY program you want to uninstall.

A number of off topic posts and replies have been removed.

The OP asked “I am getting these McAfee protection adverts all the time everyday on myLaptop. Is there any way I can stop this?”, can we please not deflect the discussion away from the advice needed.

Since it comes on when you start up have gone to task manager (right click an an empty space on the task bar and click task manager) then select, in no particular order, either the start up or process buttons and look for McAfee.  Disable or stop as appropriate in either/or both sections.

PS;  I apologise if this has already been suggested but I have not got time to red thru it all!
