Rescue teams, including officials from Phu Lan Ka National Park and Sawang Khunatham Chaiyaphum rescue unit, responded to a distress call from a concerned citizen reporting a Thai tourist had fallen from Hua Nak Cliff.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of December 7, in the Phu Lan Ka National Park area, near Ban Wang Kham Khaen, Moo 9, Tha Hin Ngom Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chaiyaphum Province. The cliff has a height ranging from 30 to 50 metres.

The injured tourist, identified as a Thai male aged about 55, was found at the base of the cliff. The area is a restricted zone due to its dangerous terrain.

Upon receiving the report, a rope rescue team was deployed to reach the injured man. However, due to the dense vegetation at the bottom of the cliff, another team had to trek down to access the location. The man was discovered beneath a rock ledge, severely injured and bleeding profusely, with no pulse.

The rescue team administered COR and first aid at the scene under challenging conditions before carrying him back up the cliff. He was then rushed to Chaiyaphum Hospital for emergency medical care. The entire rescue operation took over an hour.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was part of a tourist group visiting the area. Despite warning signs and restrictions, the group likely entered the prohibited zone to take photos at the cliff’s edge. Witnesses reported that the victim fell during the activity, prompting his companions to seek help.

Authorities plan to conduct a thorough investigation, including questioning the victim’s companions. If evidence of rule violations is found, appropriate legal action will be taken.

The injured man will also be questioned once his condition stabilises to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
