Assad gone? Maybe dead? The Russians are fleeing. And the Iranians have already evacuated (in both senses).

I see some claims that the plane he was in crashed and he may be dead. All the fog of war, of course. Will need to wait and see how things shake out. One thing for sure, Erdogan and Turkey are jubilant. They were behind this.

I think every attempt will be made to leave no rump state for fear it will become a beacon for ISIS et al.

   Seems that Israel are bombing the chemical factories to stop the new owners making chemical weapons

The Turks could still dominate it. But I will bet anything Erdogan moves into the Kurdish zone and annexes it, while wiping out all possible Kurdish resistance. Is there a chance the overall map is radically redrawn? Putin may have something to fear from the Turks now. All is not lost, Assad lover. Trump is almost in. Putin can call in his markers, excellent chance Trump will jump to attention. Just like when Erdogan called, asking the US, er, Trump to betray the US's Kurdish allies. When Putin talks, Trump listens.

 

Perhaps Trump will combine Russian Wagner units & US troops to get a bloodthirsty dictator back in power. It is a whole new world out there. Who knows what wonders may come.

I will still be sunning myself on a Thai beach.

 

The ruskies won't though because they will be skint. 

All my money/gold is under my mattress. 

Plus I have acres of farmland in the south of Thailand where I can grow all my own food.

 

I will just be fine.
