The remains of Mr. Huang Hao, a Chinese tourist who tragically died in a paragliding accident in Phetchabun province, were cremated on December 10, as his family prepares to return his ashes to China. The family has also announced plans to take legal action against the agency responsible for organising the fatal activity.

Mr. Huang Hao had been paragliding on December 5, 2024, from the scenic Phu Thap Boek area in Lom Kao District, Phetchabun Province. During the activity, he suffered a fatal crash, plunging to his death in Lom Kao Subdistrict.

On the morning of December 10, the deceased’s family retrieved his body from Lom Kao Crown Prince Hospital and held a cremation ceremony at Prachumkongkharam Temple in Lom Sak District. The ceremony was attended by local officials, including Thanit Wongwisets, Director of Phetchabun’s Tourism and Sports Department; Padharin Wongphromthao, an officer from the Provincial Tourist Assistance Center; local police; and rescue teams.

By 16.00 the ashes were collected and prepared for transportation back to China. The family is working with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand to finalise the necessary paperwork for insurance compensation claims.

According to a translator assisting the family, they intend to file a lawsuit against the agency that organised the paragliding activity. The family plans to appoint legal counsel to pursue charges against those involved before returning to China.

Phetchabun’s Tourist Assistance Centre coordinated with related agencies to provide support and assistance to the family throughout the process, including facilitating their travel back to China.

Good luck with that.. Unless there was an insurance policy signed they will be hard luck to get any monies of any substance.

It is usual for any organisation who offer these types of sports to make any participants sign a waiver
