Mobile phone repair shops -- expert level -- where in CM?

Featured Replies

Looking in Chiang Mai for a cluster of mobile phone repair shops with higher expertise than the average phone shop.

All in one place, such as at a mall or clustered around one market area.

A location that has many mobile phone repair shops near each other.

Not just selling counters, but actual repair shops.

Not just "retail" sales of a new battery or applying plastic to the phone screen.

Looking for shops with a high level of technical expertise.

Reason for asking about a "cluster" like this is I have found that in Thailand

shops that are the most technically capable tend to cluster together.

Sure, will be outliers here and there, but I want to save time and save driving around.

So looking for that "cluster" here in Chiang Mai.

I shouldn't matter but the mobile phone is a Pixel 6A.

The "repair" is to install a new operating system to replace Android.

Where in Chiang Mai to find a cluster of mobile phone repair shops?

In order to discover that one technician who might be able to handle this?

Thank you.

Pantip Plaza used to be the go-to place for mobile phone accessories and repair.

It has undergone major changes in the past few years... maybe for the better, maybe for the worse.

Check it out.

Then why ask a question that you have an answer for? Just go to a mall, right?

Not anymore!

There are now only  two computer repair shops, one general computer accessories shop and a battery shop upstairs and a handful of general phone shops downstairs left.

I do not believe that any of them do repairs themselves but they may be able to recommend a repair shop for you!

Yeh the best malls are Prominada, Maya, Khat Suan Kaeo, Festival and Tantrapan.

Not very helpful as Promenada and Kad Suan Kaew are closed!

Tantrapan I have never heard of!

Of the others I do not remember seeing any groupings of mobile repair shops, maybe induvial stalls on the walkways!

Have to include the closed ones because for people who don’t like Malls they are the best

If Pantip is closed, the phone shops would go elsewhere.

My best guess would be the Airport mall.

Pantip is open and remodeled, though only two or three phone shops on the ground floor. Airport central and central festival have quite a few phone shops that repair phones. The “Audio District” in santitham just west of kad thannin have a few as well. That’s about it for the clustered shops.

IIRC the shops in Pantip that sold phones were on the ground floor, whereas the phone repair shops were on the second floor.

Correct!

About 5 phone shops & one optician remain on the ground floor.  There are NO phone shops of any kind upstairs!
