Police have arrested Isarathep 34, also known as “Boy Talad Pla” (Fish Market Boy), in connection with the brutal murder of Ms. Patamaporn 30, who was found dead with 20 stab wounds in her rented room in Mueang District, Ang Thong Province.

The arrest was made on December 15, by Pol. Lt. Col. Sitthichok Sitthisophon, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, Ang Thong Police Station, in coordination with officers from Huai Khwang Police Station. Boy was apprehended while hiding in a nondescript residence on Watthana Tham Road, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok. He was brought back to Ang Thong for questioning under an arrest warrant issued by the Ang Thong Provincial Court (No. 266/2567) on December 14, 2024, on charges of premeditated murder.

Police later transported the suspect to the forensic science unit in Ang Thong to collect DNA and other evidence for comparison with materials recovered from the crime scene. Authorities also planned a crime scene reenactment later in the day, which was cancelled due threats from a very hostile crowd.

During the interrogation, Boy confessed to the crime, revealing that he had been in a relationship with Ms. Patamaporn for over three months. He believed she had separated from her husband until a recent argument revealed otherwise. Boy claimed the conflict escalated after he attempted to collect money on her behalf from her friend, who later informed her husband. This led to tension between Boy and Ms. Patamaporn, as she accused him of disrupting her family.

Boy also stated that Ms. Patamaporn had repeatedly threatened to expose his criminal past and had tried to end their relationship, insisting on remaining just casual partners. Jealous and frustrated, Boy admitted to pressuring her to commit to him exclusively, but she refused.

On the day of the murder, Boy went to her room to confront her. After being allowed inside, an argument ensued, during which Boy “lost control” and stabbed her with a knife he found in the room. He claimed he could not recall how many times he stabbed her, as he was in a fit of rage. Before fleeing the scene, Boy let the air out of her car tyres, allegedly to prevent her from leaving and to force her to resolve the issue.

Boy denied premeditating the murder, insisting he had no intention of harming her when he arrived. “I loved her deeply and supported her financially throughout our relationship. I didn’t mean for this to happen,” he said.

Boy expressed regret for his actions, stating, “I cannot undo what I’ve done. I deeply apologise to Ms. Patamaporn and her family for what happened.”

Authorities have charged him with premeditated murder, and he remains in custody at Ang Thong Police Station as the investigation continues.
