Elon Musk - Genius, future supervillain, or both?

Ian Hislop once described Musk as having a personality that was "Terrible, even by South African Standards". What's your opinion of him?

He certainly gets high marks from me for investing in spaceflight, helping to bring EVs into the mainstream, and selling flamethrowers to any yank who asks for one, but I get the feeling he's always one nervous tick away from bringing disaster.

I must admit it was bloody hilarious hearing Trump make "Elon won't go home!" comments about Musk apparently going full fanboy on him.

Don’t know, never met him. But one thing is for certain is that he’s is much smarter than anyone in this neighborhood.

As a misunderstood genius with a good hearth and intentions to save the humans, se his good will being ridiculed, he turns in to the the evil genius ?

I'm afraid he sees people as idiots, and  just a.brief look at social media and other open channels, do not prove him wrong.

Right now powerful people use him for what he is worth?

Make your pic,

A ruthless if dishonest businessman, megalomaniac, narcissist, white supremacist, immoral, chronic liar, somewhere on the autistic spectrum, lacking in empathy, sympathy, poor understanding of social relations and politics. He's completely untrustworthy in my opinion, and I certainly don't want him running the country.

Seth Abramson is writing a biography of him. He has loads of material about Elon on his substack (some of is free, enough to get the gist, the rest behind a paywall). Musk comes across as the kind of evil genius you see in James Bond movies but hope you'll never encounter in real life.

Success renders you an enemy to the Left, which enemy must be destroyed.

Might I remind everyone that the rules still apply here and those incapable of having a conversation without insulting others can be excluded from the area? Some posts have been removed.

He promised to have fully autonomous cars by 2017. How's that working out? Not much point in going to Mars until you've worked out how to build a self-sustaining colony there. Even then, the rest of the planet will remain inhospitable. A colony on the moon first would seem like a better idea.

That was my point. He's great at announcing things. He said we were going to be on Mars several years ago and he's not even close.
