So you are saying the bottom line is to break the law if it takes too long to get something done.  In this case, immigrants.

One analogy would be if it takes too long to check out your bag of groceries, then walk out without paying.  I could give you many more examples of your faulty logic.

Nope, did not say that. I said bottom line the USA needs immigration. Currently some have come legally, some come illegally, and have done so for decades. Illegal immigration has happened under both Republican & Democrat leadership. Why do you think that is? The Democrats had a fantastic bipartisan bill before the election, but was killed because it would not have helped the Republican boss. I have said previously either party could end illegals crossing the border/s because now Canada it would appear let's in millions as well, in less than a week. But for some unknown reason neither party has done it. Including Trump in his four years the first time. And no, does not include building a wall. It would however cause a bit of an International curfuffal.

Simply because all the billionaire donors wasted their money in a seriously flawed and disliked failure of a candidate like Kamala and Walz whose seriously ineffective and laughable campaign whose only strategy was to lambast Trump and his supporters as nazis, fascists, hitler, a threat to America, etc only served to ensure Trumps LANDSLIDE election victory. Trump spent $500 campaigning, Kamala spent $1.5-$2B also on Trumps campaign but couldn't see it....lol

In 2024, Democrats spent about $6.7 billion, Republicans spent about $7.6 billion, and third-party candidates, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., spent a little more than $500 million. Adjusted for inflation, that’s more than 2.5 times as much as any third-party candidate since 2000, when third-party candidates spent nearly $197 million.

My point is that there is no justification for illegal immigration and you are laying the blame on Congress and Trump for not stopping it.  The bottom line is illegal immigration is wrong no matter who is responsible for not stopping or curbing it.

By the way, I did not realize that Canada is letting in millions of illegal immigrants in less than a week.

Yes, if only the Trump supporting sheeple were smart enough, they would want millions of illegal aliens flooding into the country each year.

I don't know why anyone should be surprised, government by oligarchs is coming to America.

It's going to get messy when the trump sheeple at the bottom of the pyramid realize how completely they have been conned.

Maybe the Second Amendment will become useful, according to the Law of Unintended Consequences.

I wonder if other non-spams on here are as brassed-off as me with hearing about the US election. Especially the whinging from you bitter and twisted Demorat losers. When are you lefties going to realise that slagging off the majority of the electorate is not going to help you win over Republican voters. If you have an eye on the next general election, you should instead be coming up with some decent agreeable policies that the "sheeple" might like ie controlling mass immigration, reducing crime, stopping antisemitism, returning discipline to the schools and universities, getting rid of woke etc

Not sure how old you are, but you can go back hundreds of years now for illegal immigration. Again, I ask you, Why? Why in over hundreds of years has it been allowed to continue. There was a program back in late 60's or 70's that allowed seasonal workers to travel back and forth for work. Mostly from Mexico, Caribbean and South America. Worked well for both. In the 1800's it was African slaves, later Mexicans. Is illegal immigration wrong? It is only wrong if one is trying to stop it, and it continues. Allowing it to continue makes it not illegal, in my opinion.

The U.S., like many countries has laws governing immigration.  If they are not being enforced, then why have them.  I hear many on AN complain about Thailand's lax enforcement of its traffic laws.  It definitely shows in the statistics.  Same for the U.S. enforcing its immigration laws.  Again statistics shows what happens when enforcement is lax.

We were literally forced to accept for 4 years that it was pure coincidence that money came gushing into the biden families bank accounts from dodgy countries the then VP biden held significant power in. Ukraine, China, Russia and Romania for ex. You were notably at the forefront of the pure coincidence movement(even though every participant knew full well it was corruption with s capital C) and no reason whatsoever these millions were flowing .

Bit rich to reincarnate as a non believer in coincidence.

yeah, AMerican legislators could not even floor a bill outlawing insider trading by the congressmen since they are well aware of big companies and projects but the congress folks realize that this is another way to riches...just look at the famiy money after retirement from the govt and add up the possible amount of their salaries during their tenure....unbelieveable  to me anyway as I was a govt employee and I sure didn't get rich!  Need to really be able to cleanse them but that will never happen as the head crook also picks the supreme court to take care of  them too.

I am 84, pushing 85. My mother's parent's immigrated to Hawaii in the very early 1900's.  Her mother from Ukraine, fleeing the unrest and purging of the aristocracy.  Her father from China, hired as the ship's doctor tending to immigrants contracted to work on the sugar plantations.  The bulk of immigrants to Hawaii at the time were contract workers from China, Japan and the Azores.  Illegal immigration wasn't a problem for the Territorial government.  Today is a different story, especially with overstays.  It is estimated that 40,000 or so illegals are in the state.

Exactly! Thanks. There are laws against illegal immigration. Which I strongly agree with. But, they are not enforced. Again, why? Because the USA needs these people to do the jobs American Citizens are not willing to do, or employers are not willing to hire (american citizens) due to cost. Without these illegals who would process the billions of chickens, or pick the billions of tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, apples, slaughter cattle for consumption. Not my kids that's for sure. USA allows illegal immigration to happen because it can not operate without them. Oh, just thought of another one, cleaners/hotel rooms, without illegals I bet over 75% of accommodations in the US would close because they couldn't get staff.

Musk & Trump (I put musk first as it will be he who rules, soon) know this. Heck Trumps empire was built on illegals (I'm assuming as he seems that kind of guy judging from reading about him back in the 70's). No way Musk will allow him to stop illegal immigration. Period.

The USA is the most expensive democracy money can buy. That is no secret.

Nobody should be surprised that the rich get what the rich pay for.

The most disgusting was when right-wing AIPAC manipulated two Democratic primaries to get rid of incumbents by contributing $9 million in the case of Cori Bush (MO) and $12 million in the case of Jamaal Bowman (NY).

You are right about ag and meat processing.  Not so sure about hospitality.  I am only familiar with the Filipinos in Hawaii and Mexicans in Vegas.

Interesting. Irish background. My family were involved in bringing over immigrants (the irony) to the US a few generations back. Judging from the stories and record keeping - my great grandmother had journals indicating cost of cargo (people)  - those that survived, those that didn't - in fact there is a good possibilty that somewhere down the line your lineage assisted mine with keeping the cargo alive back then. Perhaps not as I believe my forefathers dealt mostly from the Atlantic side.

Bowman should have been in prison for his attack on democracy by pulling a fire alarm to prevent a vote. If the biden regime had a single standard of justice for all - which it clearly doesn't. Can't imagine anyone crying about him being unemployed now.

A lifelong friend of mine has copies of manifests from ships carrying immigrants from China, Japan and the Azores in his plantation museum.  I have been there when visitors come in to trace their genealogy.  Yes, quite interesting.

If this were somehow about getting to Mars faster, sure, I'd like to see that happen while I am still around. But I don't see how Elon's involvement in politics is anything but a distraction.

Usual fearmongering on this topic Dems do every election, parroted by the propaganda press.

Trump has said several times, and the Republican Platform says explicitly, that no cuts to SS are planned.

So far, things are looking good.

Social Security Expands Access To SSI Benefits

Senate plans to vote on bill that would increase Social Security benefits for some pensioners

And yesterday Trump announced a new 100 billion investment by SoftBank.

Trump, SoftBank CEO announce $100 billion US investment, in echo of 2016 event

Remarkable contrast to Biden: bringing in money rather than shipping it out or just printing money to buy votes. 'Course, through bag man Hunter, Biden did bring in money from Ukraine and China for himself and family.

Nope the number is estimated at 200,00 'encounters'  in the past year; mainly Indian and East Asian nationals. With 358 suspects on the terror watchlist were detained at ports of entry on the U.S.—Canada border during the 2024 fiscal year, I expect those on the terror watchlist are related to Indian internal political conflicts.

Interesting opinion piece...

GOP legislators are toying with reducing payouts under the system, including raising the retirement age and other benefit cuts. As one GOP representative recently told Fox Business Network, “we're going to have to have some hard decisions” on Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare.

Trump’s GOP will be making “hard” choices, meaning they will be cutting benefits, in order to fund tax cuts for wealthy donors.

If you read the linked article, the writer is clearly an anti-GOP, Trump-hating, progressive Democrat. I'm surprised that she didn't say in the article "Trump is a Nazi."

Technically he hasn't bought "the Presidency - he has bought the position of "first buddy": a non officially recognised post , a bit like the government non- department he is to head up.

Musk probably neither knows nor cares about the effects of the cuts he wishes to see implemented, he is only interested in the amount of cash they will release to be ploughed into tax cuts for him and his ilk!

Disingenuous and the usual liberal downplaying to further their agenda.

Biden Caused Largest Surge Of Illegal Immigration In U.S. History: NYT

Bad bill. Had 3 RINOs supporting it for fig leaf bipartisan support. Trump's opposition didn't kill the bill. That's merely a DNC lie (one of many) parroted here by the gullible such as yourself.

That bill was awful. It killed itself," Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told Fox News Digital on Thursday of the bill that was negotiated by Sens. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz., and James Lankford, R-Okla.

"I'm not aware of anybody that Trump called," he added, with another GOP senator seconding this.

After former President Donald Trump himself came out against the measure, Democrats accused him of being responsible for its ultimate demise, and he further welcomed their blame. But several Republican senators said the bill was essentially dead on arrival, with or without Trump's input.

--Dems run on border bill Republicans say 'was never designed to solve the problem'

It fell on its own "merits." You don't anything about the bill, just blowing hot air.

The Senate Border Deal Should Be Rejected on the Merits

It was cover for continuing to allow millions of illegals to enter the USA and expedite giving them asylum, work permits, benefits and citizenship. It also had funding for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan--nothing to do with immigration.

Democratic opposition and lawfare stymied Trump in his first term, but he didn't do that badly, all considered.

image.png.2898c40a5988ad696262a6b1dee89e71.png

Things are looking up now w/ his new mandate. The public's strongly behind him on this issue and he's got both Houses to pass effective legislation.

Allowing illegal immigration by not enforcing the law makes it not illegal.🤣 We've reached a new low in leftist illogic. Somebody could break into your house and steal your phone and computer, but if the police weren't enforcing laws against theft that day, then it's legal. So you'd have no complaints. 🙂

Well you should use the whole quote vs cut n paste like a many of us in the white power groups do. I am probably more radical rw than you are. In fact I know it. However I do not have my head so far up trumps arse that I can think for myself. I do not take a big whiff of the fart, so to speak. My plan to eliminate illegals would be to line up about 500 snipers across the border and provide a 24 hour amnesty. I guarantee within 72 hours all border crossings would stop. So, yes if neither the Reps or Dems do nothing, and neither side has, than allowing illegals to cross the border without recrimination, that is essentially legal immigration. And Fox news is less credible than CNN but slightly better than CBC or the NYT.

Also the point of the public is strongly on his side....he got 77 million of the approx. 245 million eligible voters. Roughly 33%!  And 3 million more than Harris. If you are referring to the racist electoral college system, than yes, winner winner chicken dinner you have elected you a grand wizard.

The topic isn't about your fantasy plan or mere opinions, which is all you have in lieu of facts.

15 minutes ago, rct99q said:

He won a plurality of the popular vote, and Repubs won down ballot, giving control of both Houses. Obviously, they're on his side. He's got a fairer Supreme Court this time around, thanks to his appointments last term. But you misunderstood the point about your own point, which was about immigration. Grok says:

A recent Scripps News/Ipsos poll conducted in September 2024 found that 54% of Americans support the mass deportation of undocumented immigrants. This support includes 86% of Republicans, 58% of independents, and 25% of Democrats.

Additionally, posts found on X from December 2024 suggest varying levels of support, with mentions of support ranging from 47% to 58% for mass deportations.

So that's strong support, as much as can be got in such a divided nation. Point is, It's strong enough for he and his team to proceed to implement deportations and real reform.
