So why have you posted it?

Without some sort of link it seems a little pointless unless you want people to bash the UK........

European national pensions

Precisely what does this term mean? Occupational pensions and/or government pensions like the UK State Pension? The UK figure appears at first glance to be the current State Pension triple-lock one, but how can we be sure that like is being compared with like in the case of this and the remaining countries' figures stated?

As @topt has stated, we really do need a link clarifying the sources of these figures - and confirming that they have not been arbitrarily plucked out of the air.

This may be accurate;

PS .Germany is in ropes.... very large muslim families are expensive to support.

First they brought in Turks to build Mercedes cars. The idea was Turks would return home but that didn't happen - they stay and started to multiply like rabbits... Game over.

I met in Manila horror hotel Brit from Liverpool (my fb team too) who had moved to UK with Filipina wife and 6 kids. Half his, half from her from previous life.

UK refused all support.... They were married, 3 of the kids UK citizens and so on. He only had small pension, not enough for housing etc. He was so mad and bitter; "UK refused all the help - we got nothing! Muslim and Hindu families with 15+ kids get everything!" he said.

He came back to Phils. Money running out, rest of the family living with relatives in different places.

Poor guy. I felt for him.

PS. Funny thing; he spoke like Irishman (my guess). "Not Irish, my mother is from Scotland. I spent lot of time with her so I started to speak like her..."

That looks like the 2022 figure, it's currently £958.53, rising 4.1% in April.

Not if you started pension before 2017 then it's a lower rate

True, but I'm comparing it to the table in the OP which refers to new state pension only (£185.15pw in 2022/23).

Although it compares miserably with other European countries, the UK state pension has actually doubled in the past 10 years (£115.95pw @ April 2015, £230.25pw @ April 2025).

At least he gets the triple lock increasers, not like in Thailand, should manage well in the Phils on a UK pension

British pensioners in Thailand don't the yearly increase in the state pension, they do in the Philippines, but yes I could manage on 800 pounds a month in Thailand if I was pushed

UK needs to be bashed, shockingly poor pensions for one of the richest countries on the list- and then they freeze it.

35% of the UK population does not pay income tax.  A majority of the UK population receives more in government services and benefits than they contribute in total taxes.  And yet here you come along to demand that  pensions be increased. The UK is choking with debt and it's national wealth total has decreased.

Who do you  want to pay for the increased pensions? 10% of UK taxpayers already contribute 60% of the tax revenues. You can't bleed them anymore without killing them. The typical UK worker doesn't want to  increase  their pension contribution.

Back in the late 80's I was a Senior Shop Steward for a nationwide transport company and negotiated a 10% pay rise, 5% of the rise would go into a company pension scheme where any employee contributions would be doubled by the company plus extra from the Government, it was worth a lot at the time. It went out to ballot and was rejected by the majority for a straight 10% pay rise and no pension. A few of us opted for the Government Scheme paid through the National Insurance Scheme, 30 years later I ended up with 200k extra in my pension pot at no extra cost, but did lose about £15 a week off my OAP, winner winner chicken dinner as long as I don't live past 90 and with the option to commute some of the 200k to cash, which was very handy.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

I doubt this list can be accurate, Spain has average incomes half of what it states for the Pension to be. In terms of pensions in Netherlands is about what you made, it can be zero. Social welfare from 67+ would depend single or couple and is around 800-1200.

Most simply depends on actual pension you did or did not build up during career + paid off house / savings. In average proper done scenario's the Swiss figure is then the same for Netherlands, Germany etc etc too.

A quick check says that Spain is anywhere from 650-1200 euro average. Gotta hate all these fake lists and data, same as with Americans where some people earn like 100-150K a year but nobody mentions the part they also have fixed costs for like 100-150K a year, to have a same life as a state where it is 50-60K a year.
