GWM Clarifies Electric Vehicle Fire: External Factors, Not Battery Fault
Great Wall Motor Thailand (GWM) has issued a statement on December 17, addressing the recent incident involving a GWM ORA Good Cat electric vehicle that caught fire in a school parking area in Lat Krabang. The company has confirmed that the fire was not caused by the vehicle’s battery or internal systems but resulted from external factors. Emergency services, including rescue teams and firefighters, were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no one was inside the vehicle at the time, and there were no injuries reported. Following the incident, GWM swiftly contacted the vehicle owner to begin an investigation. A team of engineers and technical experts conducted an on-site inspection and confirmed that the fire did not originate from the vehicle’s 12V battery, high-voltage battery, or internal systems. CCTV footage from the area provided clear evidence pointing to external factors as the cause of the fire. GWM is cooperating with police authorities, who are continuing their investigation to determine further details. GWM reassured customers of the safety and durability of the ORA Good Cat’s high-voltage battery. Despite extensive fire damage to other parts of the vehicle, the battery remained intact. In its official statement, GWM emphasised its commitment to quality and safety, stating: “We prioritize the safety and satisfaction of our customers. The ORA Good Cat’s battery is reliable and robust. Should any issue arise, we are dedicated to resolving it promptly, transparently, and fairly.” The company also pledged to work closely with insurance providers to ensure the affected customer receives adequate and fair support. GWM’s rapid investigation, completed and communicated within 12 hours of the incident, has been widely acknowledged as a proactive and professional response. GWM concluded by thanking customers for their continued trust and assured ORA Good Cat users that they can drive with confidence, prioritising safety on every journey. -- 2024-12-18 -

Trump’s big fat abject lie …and why he keeps telling it.
I agree that there should be (and hope there will be) light shone on those years and what went down behind the scenes. Covid was a declaration of war on mankind, and Trump, in his own words in March 2020, was "a wartime president". If you look at history, leaders in times of war are rarely faced with good choice/bad choice dichotomies, they make the least bad choice in extremely difficult circumstances. -

Thai Senate Approves Landmark Change to Child Discipline Law
The law is so vague though. Even if passed just about anything can be said or claimed as abuse. Spank the child on his butt and if it hurt him and he complains his butt hurts from it. You are being abusive. Tell the child something demeaning or demoralizing and that will also be considered abuse. Most Thais do not direct punishment out to their child or grandchild but when they do it is quick and without thought ( like grabbing a stick and whacking the kid.) Once again Thais are using specific instances from teachers and some parents doing so bad that the Thai government is acting drastically by passing a vague and general law that leaves it open for different meanings and personal feeling rather than being specific in actions or causes that can be easily defined.
