He's never been to any of the big parks in Bangkok, nor into a Thai 7-Eleven for that matter, so he wouldn't know.

MY EXPERIENCES. Nothing more, nothing less,

Bob memorably said that his wife's back portal was so blown out that he could barely touch the sides.

More, Bob, More.

There is definitely a noticeable negative and nasty side to this AN forum, much more noticeable than any of the other internet forums I look at.  So many threads just deteriorate into back and forth bitching, and there are many here who instantly jump down others throats, it's like they go through every post looking for some point they can seize upon to use against the OP.  Because of this I personally don't post much here, and I've given up asking anyone for advice due to smart-ass nasty responses.

I understand what you are saying, but I live up country and have no other farangs to speak to and the help I have recieved from AN posters on different things has been first class.

Same here. I go along with my feelings, after 50 years on the road as a musician, a lot in your country, I can adapt to anything.

But with that experience, I cannot tolerate idiots, liars, cruel and unkind people

Unfortunate, you can't escape, the society is flooded with all kinds of troubled people, and to be true, it have been a nice escape in Isaan living outside the village on a big land away from close neighbors. But, not sustainable for long due to the heat and prolonged burning season, and lack of common sense. The latter I can live without for months, and go back to my country or visit friends down south when needed.

Yes Hummin. Like you, I live in the middle of nowhere, 35 km from Phitsanulok City. I am the only Falang around. My Mrs family all live very close, but give me no problems, or ask for money! The burning has just started but seems quite calm this year. The common sense is as usual for most Thais, very lacking in it. I try not to get involved in things which don't affect me personally, like Trump or Starmer, my Grandson is more important to me.

After Covid the situation has generally gotten even worse, I noticed.

I agree - during Covid there were more "positive" people...

I was positive 3 times too.

they were both memorable days.

Yes, indeed!

The first time was 4 month Hell. Only Hanta virus has been same, as painful.

2nd same but short, just a month.

3rd easiest but long again.

Very well said!

I'm now visiting smaller towns to see if I could live here. Now in Sisaket.

I could live here with somebody (gf, partner, wife) but not all the time. The weather is very nice! 28 C days, nights cool 16-19 C. People are wonderful too.

Next maybe to Philippines to see how I feel to be there.

Good luck in your search.

The best thing is to find something that gives you a feeling of being home, and still keep your investments as low as possible. Being to leave without looking back is a good thing for feeling free. Land is a good investment, if you can trust your partner.

Thanks but no more investing.

I'm on downhill slope and spending is the only mode 🙂

PS. I backed off leaving this little charming town. I found nice areas for walking and one chick who joins me. No love or romance but good conversation and company.

PS2. The other reason is I'm "in Mango heaven!" Over ripe yellow ones 20 B kg, green ones 30-50 B. Haven't tasted yet. Ubon Ratchathani was out of both - 80km away.

A good start with partner, is becoming friends first. I was friends with my wife for 4 months before we decided we should be more than just friends. Gave me a great oppertunity to see who she was before I started to have feelings for her as well. And she was kind of layback as well, and in no rush to catch me.

Now 8 years later, I can say it have been a great journey

I've noticed since joining this forum back in September that certain members have nothing but negative, abusive and downright slanderous things to say on my topics and elsewhere. I would just like to ask, why all the negativity? Are you just disappointed that Trump won and are venting your spleens or is it something much deeper? Do you have issues that need working out? I mostly make topics about my life experiences in Thailand, but it seems that certain members just cannot or will not accept my experiences for what they are - MY EXPERIENCES. Nothing more, nothing less, and I thought that's what a forum was for, to share all our collective experiences. Perhaps I was wrong, maybe this place is different...

Fear.
