I have noticed that sometimes the way a person thinks when they are really high on weed can look a lot like the thought patterns of someone who has schizophrenia. Both experience a sense of confusion, where normal ideas start to feel jumbled or out of place.

For example, when someone smokes a lot of weed, they might suddenly think everyone around them is talking about them or planning something. This can be very similar to the paranoia that some people with schizophrenia feel, where they believe others are out to get them or that strange forces are at work.

Another thing I have seen is how both being high and having schizophrenia can make it hard to tell which thoughts are real and which are not. Weed can spark daydreams that feel incredibly vivid, almost like mini-hallucinations. People with schizophrenia also have vivid hallucinations or beliefs that do not match reality. Of course, these are not exactly the same experiences, but the feeling of being trapped in your own mind, unable to separate real from unreal, can feel strangely similar.

There is also something about the flow of thoughts that ties the two experiences together. A person who is high may jump from one idea to another without much connection. In schizophrenia, this can show up as disorganized thinking, where the mind leaps from thought to thought in a way that is hard for others to follow.

I use it as an aphrodisiac early in the afternoon, on top of sildenafil. When I'm done with my short-time visitor I wish the high would go away. It doesn't though. I need to sweat it out and cannot do anything useful ultil it goes away. Even after the high has subsided there's a lingering feeling of exhaustion well into the evening. It's this waste of time and loss of mental stamina I resent.

I can't understand how some people can get high on cannabis just for the sake of the high. To me the cannabis high per se ranges from mildly unpleasant to mildly pleasant. If it weren't for sex I wouldn't ever do cannabis. Perhaps this is why I'm in no danger of getting addicted to cannabis. You get addicted to a drug when you like the high of the drug on its own (and on your own!).

Everyone's mileage is different.

I am impressed. Once high on weed, I have never felt the slightest inclination towards any kind of sexual activity. I only want to sleep.

Only during the initial "rush". Later on I also feel like lying down. I don't call it sleep because I don't think it actually count as genuine sleep you can offset against the waking hours.

If I have a heavy night of weed smoking then the next day I'll often feel fatigued and end up sleeping much of the day. Not a bad thing if I haven't slept well for a few nights.

I did not mention that I am 74.  I'm sure that figures into my personal reaction to weed. I am lucky to even be alive.   LOL

Yes, age can definitely play a role in how your body responds to THC. If I make it into my 70s, then it's quite possible that I may just stop using it by then. i'm not saying it's necessary to stop using it as you get older, but it I guess it depends on the person.

At the very least, it might be a good idea for you to experiment a bit with some edible forms of THC and perhaps you can work out a low enough dose so that your response to it is more to your liking.

With edible cannabis oil, you can control the dosing much more easily based on a number of drops and you can experiment with a very small number of drops first and then add to it until you figure out the ideal dose for yourself.

Reaching that magic 70 number in 2025.  I can no longer drink a lot or a lot of THC.  2 drinks is about it, and I can't smoke anything so one gummie and I'm smiling.

I got a kick out of your advice. In the past fifty years, I have ingested weed in more forms than you could possibly imagine. It's time to admit that I simply can't handle it anymore.

Fair enough, sometimes all good things need to come to an end.

Amidst all of your ingestion experiments, have you ever placed a bit of strong THC oil on the tip of your unit and plunged it into the opposite sex? If so, how were your results? 😀

I haven't done that. I also haven't introduced it anally, which is probably your preferred means of ingestion.

Most people don't admit to the negative effects

What are they? Don't just state it. Write it.

I slipped my second to lowest vertebrae. It's more than debilitating. Weed not only made me comfortable again but somehow relieved the pressure on my spinal cord where it was pinched. It also affords me deep sleep. The negative is if too much is taken, and by taking, I mean, I eat weed, I don't smoke, but too much makes you useless.  The type of weed matters as well.

There is a balance to be achieved.

Yes, I think if ingestion were really the goal, anal absorption would likely offer much better bioavailability.

I did some reading, and it’s fascinating. While some absorption can occur through the skin of the penis, the vaginal lining absorbs substances directly into the bloodstream quite efficiently. This means the woman might experience a more pronounced effect than the man. That said, both partners could potentially feel increased physical and mental stimulation, including relaxation and heightened sensation.

Of course, the effects would vary depending on the individual, as experiences with these kinds of substances often do. One consideration is the potential for skin irritation caused by the oil’s ingredients, which could be an issue for either partner.

It’s an intriguing idea, though, and I’d be tempted to explore it under the right circumstances, with the right, consenting partner, of course.

Do you mean you just eat raw, dried flowers? No heating it up first to decarb it? Why not make it into an edible oil infusion? Would likely give you better absorption and a stronger effect. Just some ideas...

I was given a raw flower to eat and was told it works,it doesn't.

I'm not saying to do it.

I'm saying that for me, it def became addictive and de-railing to have cheap and powerful weed around me all of the time.

95% of people who smoke weed are fine with it and should keep on doing it. It's great as a money spinner in tourist zones.

Some questions:

-Have you met people like me for whom it is a negative habit?

-Do you ever take tolerance breaks?

-Has weed impacted your health or cognition?

I first smoked weed in 1966 or 1967.  Back then it was underground, so to speak.  In college, it was everywhere.  It was almost impossible to find a group of people where weed wasn't available.. Weed, hashish, LSD, mescaline... Sex, drugs, and rock and roll.  It wasn't just a T-shirt.  I could tell you all kinds of stories.  Anyway, weed was one of the reasons it took me 5 1/2 years to finally accumulate the right amount of credits in the right courses to obtain an undergraduate degree.  In other words, weed was counterproductive, for me.

By the mid 70s, I was living in NYC and going to another school.  I switched over to Johnny Walker Scotch, and that seemed to work better. People still smoked weed back then, but by then, that wasn't a thing I needed to do.

I guess I haven't had any since the mid 70s.  I've thought about it, though.  There must be five stores, just in my little neighborhood. Either weed or maybe some edibles, but I'm not sure it's anything I need.  I'd just as soon have a bottle of wine.

When I was 26, I was asked to try weed muffins at a Christmas party. I thought it was a ridiculous idea until I had to get someone to drive me home because I was zonked out of my mind. I never laughed at edibles again.

That is also my understanding, but I've never tried eating it raw myself. They say that heat is required first to convert the THC in the flowers to THCA, the form of THC that can be absorbed by the body's cannabinoid receptors.

I have also heard of people making tea from flowers and getting the effects from it that way, but I'm not sure if there's a special process involved with that or not.

Yes, edibles definitely do work. I've made my own cannabis infused edible oil, which is very concentrated and strong and you need to be careful with the dosing. And the oil could now be added to food too if you want. I often put a few drops on top of a piece of chocolate and give it to somebody as a bit of a cannabis confection. If I'm using it myself, though, I just put it in my mouth as is.

But with all edibles, the cannabis has been first heated up, and/or the THC has been extracted into an oil or an alcohol base using heat, and then eaten directly, or put into a food item like butter or oil and then added to foods like brownies, cookies, muffins, etc, or some other edible form.

I don't smoke weed,i hate the taste of the smoke.

i do take home made edibles quit often to help me sleep and it does work for me.

There is a process you have to do to activate the THC and after that you are good to go.

It is not difficult to do and it does not take much time to make a months supply.
