A fatal collision between an 18-wheeler and a trailer truck carrying molasses occurred at an intersection on the Nong Bua-Si Bun Rueang Road in Ban Phan Don, Ban Phrao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. The incident, reported on December 19, resulted in the death of the 18-wheeler driver.

Upon receiving the report, officers from Mueang Nong Bua Lamphu Police Station coordinated with the Naresuan Rescue Foundation, ambulances, and a rescue unit equipped with cutting tools to respond to the scene.

The deceased was identified as Mr. Wittaya Phocharoen, a resident of Moo 10, Nong Lek Subdistrict, Kosum Phisai District, Maha Sarakham Province. His body was discovered on the roadside pavement. He sustained multiple severe injuries, including large open wounds, a fractured skull, and numerous broken bones. He was confirmed dead at the scene after being ejected from his vehicle during the crash.

At the accident site, authorities found a white Isuzu trailer truck with significant rear-end damage parked in the middle of the road. Nearby, the 18-wheeler, which had been carrying molasses, was located in a roadside ditch with its cab severely wrecked.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 18-wheeler, driven by Mr. Wittaya, collided with the trailer truck, which was making a U-turn. The impact caused the 18-wheeler to lose control and veer off the road. The force of the crash ejected the driver, leading to his immediate death.

Police from the Mueang Nong Bua Lamphu Station are conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the incident.
