When you make up an identity and a wife, you need to keep things consistent.

Loads of money then no money.

Chinese wife with loads of money then unemployed.

Then  has a Thai house book, but not Thai.

Really nobody believes you, are you Bob?

Yawn....I think you know the deal with Chinese in Thailand....just triggered a bit here and there

It’s interesting how some individuals manage to summon some form of offence over others having a Thai-Chinese partner.

In some threads posters are accusing anyone who claims their spouse isn’t an Isaan farm girl of fabricating the story.

As for the OP's point, it’s a fair observation: his partner, upon facing unemployment, promptly secured new opportunities. This rather neatly dismantles the tired narrative that bar work is the only option for those in challenging circumstances. For those willing to roll up their sleeves, there’s evidently no shortage of alternatives. Perhaps it’s not the lack of opportunity that’s the issue, it’s the willingness to seize it.

I really appreciate your reply. Everything I wrote is the truth and she in fact is not rich. That is something Britman made up by connecting her race with money. She did make decent income.

I’ve never quite grasped the fuss myself. I know plenty of guys married to Thai-Chinese women, including those from wealthy families, and it’s really a non-issue. Yet somehow, there’s always someone eager to inject a dose of reverse snobbery into the mix.

It’s baffling, really, back home, men marry women from all sorts of backgrounds without anyone batting an eyelid. But in Thailand? Suddenly, “white-skinned” Chinese-Thai women becomes unattainable in some people’s minds, and anyone claiming otherwise must be a liar.

Then, of course, comes the reverse snobbery, neatly shoehorned into the narrative: remarks about “pasty white skin,” accusations of being snobby hi-so, or the tired trope of not being “real Thais.” It’s as if they can’t help but project their own insecurities onto others.

I don’t think it’s jealousy, per se, more likely a cocktail of misplaced stigma and self-inflicted inferiority complexes. Whatever it is, it’s an odd little quirk of expat life that seems to persist no matter how ridiculous it becomes - Marry an Isaan farm girl and you are both salt of the earth, Marry a Chinese-Thai girl from Bangkok and you are either liar and / or she is a characterless snob (or something similar).

And did I even mention she is Chinese in this post? Nope. But he sure did for the 5th time in the totally unrelated thread. Obsessed?

My super duper wifey lost her job. No biggie with her threatening to sue and the next day 6 month comp payout. Now she is bored and I'm going crazy. So I kicked her out to do something and lo and behold she finds a free cooking school 10 minutes from where we live. Some government program.

2 pictures, Tabiean Baan and a form later she's enrolled. As a total mega surprise (to me at least) the staff asks her if after finishing the course she would be interested if the staff helps  her find a job in Thailand OR overseas!!!

Hypothetically..... all those stories of poor Thai women being so poor so they have only 1 option in life is probably a bunch lies.

What was her job then?

You're screwed.

I remember reading you have around 1M baht to last for the next dozen years or so, until you reach pension age or something similar.

there's girls working all sorts of jobs all over Thailand. The problem seems to be when you get in the late 30s then I rarely seem them employed outside of government and white collar jobs.

Ok...long story shortened.

She worked for 15 years and quit in 2022. She quit because she was mistreated and abused by Japanese and Thai staff. Meanwhile she got Canadian PR and while we were in canada the company called her back because she was their top sales and basically established their brand in Thailand. They were so apologetic and said they will do everything to please her and get rid of the the bad staff in her company. So, she came back this april to work for them again.

Of course, everything they said was a lie. They did nothing like they promised. I told her that now she has options....if they treat you bad treat them bad back. So she refused to do certain duties, became rude to Thai bosses.....needless to say I was proud and they were shocked. Last month she got the boot saying something like inability to do her manager duties. They gave her 1 month compendation. I said sue them for 1 year. You have line chats and emails them constantly beggung you to come back....from Canada! They gave her 6 months.

Yeah wow.

Suprises me they paid out 6 months severance (3 to 6yrs employment), given she was due nothing (less than 1 yr employement).

From your previous thread , she was in Canada for merely a week or two.

How she can get Canadian PR without staying there?
Another evidence of you're a troll

Yeah the 6 months payout sounds like bullsh1t too.
