Last month she got the boot saying something like inability to do her manager duties. They gave her 1 month compendation. I said sue them for 1 year. You have line chats and emails them constantly beggung you to come back....from Canada! They gave her 6 months.

As she just restarted her job after quitting herself, 1 month compensation is enough.

You can sue but won't get more.

What's the point?

Winning an argument in AN is equal to sitting at the cool kid's table in a mental hospital!
Hell, STARTING one is even more foolish!

Dude, I saw your profile on Facebook. You're full of tats and look unemployed living in some village, yet you are bragging here about being paid bigly by some company.

Here's a hint.....don't use the same Facebook username as you use on forums.

Would you like to see the proof? I can screenshot it like everything else.

It was 5 months actually....and yes...they owed her more than that imo

That's not unusual at all, and often negotiated in advance.  Especially if someone's taking a risk to accept the job.

If it doesn't work out, they get more than the legally required severance.

From the not so dumb Callum, that can be everyone's residency card. Most likely your own.

And more from the same not so dumb Callum. Which one she complied with in those 2 weeks she was there, and admitted by you in your own thread?

Yes, you are dumb for the fact that you obviously don't understand that PR card is obtained beforehand.

I’ve never quite grasped the fuss myself. I know plenty of guys married to Thai-Chinese women, including those from wealthy families, and it’s really a non-issue. Yet somehow, there’s always someone eager to inject a dose of reverse snobbery into the mix.

It’s baffling, really, back home, men marry women from all sorts of backgrounds without anyone batting an eyelid. But in Thailand? Suddenly, “white-skinned” Chinese-Thai women becomes unattainable in some people’s minds, and anyone claiming otherwise must be a liar.

Then, of course, comes the reverse snobbery, neatly shoehorned into the narrative: remarks about “pasty white skin,” accusations of being snobby hi-so, or the tired trope of not being “real Thais.” It’s as if they can’t help but project their own insecurities onto others.

I don’t think it’s jealousy, per se, more likely a cocktail of misplaced stigma and self-inflicted inferiority complexes. Whatever it is, it’s an odd little quirk of expat life that seems to persist no matter how ridiculous it becomes - Marry an Isaan farm girl and you are both salt of the earth, Marry a Chinese-Thai girl from Bangkok and you are either liar and / or she is a characterless snob (or something similar).

According to who?
As long as they have the nice Asian skin and are petite who cares?

You think too much.

Aren't you normally on here bragging about how you have no need to work due to your "highly educated" wife earning megabucks?

Who are you going to shamelessly ponce off now?    now  that she has lost her income, and decided to further her education by attending a cooking course?

You seem to be triggered  more than my wife by losing her job.

Do you need counseling?

And you are so dumb to think that I don't have access to the Canadian government sites.

You can only receive the card AFTER your permanent residency has been approved.

https://www.careercanadaimmigration.com/canada-permanent-residency/

How to get a permanent
residency card in Canada?

Once individuals pass through the Canadian immigration requirements with an approved Canada PR, they become eligible to receive a permanent resident card.

And those requirements for PR are.........................

First of all that's not the government site.

I mean you still don't get it, so why bother.

They're trolling you...

Not that you needed to,  but you've posted enough info to show that you are not being deceitful

- The PR card is clear enough (with the handwritten and of course personal info missing)

- The Messages / account balance shows a transfer.

Those looking to find holes in your story will do so no matter what evidence you post.

Not everyone remembers every detail perfectly and there may well be minor contradictions from time to time, thats also normal.

I think we just have a handful of mongers here who have issue that your Wife makes her own money, meanwhile they are stuck paying someone and are unable to see things outside of their limited perspective.

5 months / 6 months - its hardly a major error.

Additionally, some have no concept that compensation can be negotiated for - its unknown if 'previous employment and experience' with the same company can be tagged on to the compensation, but clearly that seems part of the process in this situation.

You have nothing to gain by lying - I'm not sure why so many posters are so quick to accuse others of lying - seems as soon as a topic steps outside of the narrow experience of some they are very quick to make accusations.

Ok...long story shortened.

She worked for 15 years and quit in 2022. She quit because she was mistreated and abused by Japanese and Thai staff. Meanwhile she got Canadian PR and while we were in canada the company called her back because she was their top sales and basically established their brand in Thailand. They were so apologetic and said they will do everything to please her and get rid of the the bad staff in her company. So, she came back this april to work for them again.

Of course, everything they said was a lie. They did nothing like they promised. I told her that now she has options....if they treat you bad treat them bad back. So she refused to do certain duties, became rude to Thai bosses.....needless to say I was proud and they were shocked. Last month she got the boot saying something like inability to do her manager duties. They gave her 1 month compendation. I said sue them for 1 year. You have line chats and emails them constantly beggung you to come back....from Canada! They gave her 6 months.

And refusing to do her job also? Usually what happens is what did. She got canned. What happens after can be taking it up with a lawyer to try and get back at those who fired you, but her work ethics come into play then and you're outta luck. They said she wasn't doing her job as a manager and that's all the excuse they needed. Telling her to act that way wasn't too smart.
