A native-English speaker is one who was born into a well-educated English-speaking family, in certain parts of London, but not all parts.

A native English speaker is one who has English as their first language.

I reckon "working girl" from Poland or Bulgaria married Qiwi dude some 20 years ago. A bit later she found that he was not a knight in shining armors and she must also work, not just sit at home and chat with her friends.

So she divorced him and flew back to BKK to continue her carrier as a "working girl" at Novotel Siam Square.

Later she became a teacher in int. school as she was a "native speaker" with NZ passport.

Please tell me the next steps to being a English teacher in Asia not particularly Thailand

I'm thinking Myanmar , Vietnam, Cambodia,China , Mongolia?

I wonder why there are no foreign English teachers in the Philippines or are there??? Please let me know

What are my next steps?

Can I just have a TEFLA or CELTA certificate?

What do I need exactly?

Is age against me?

What's the easiest country to be accepted?

I am excited about this

Becoming a teacher?

How do you think you can get this profession? Because it's Christmas? And Santa will give it as a gift?

Did you learn it at University?

Or do you thinking to be a Wannabe, as many here?

And age is indeed an obstacle when over 65.

Just start finding dumber than you who got some bucks to spend and you're in business!

Don't teach English English, teach 'merican. Much easier on ears and shorter sentences.

For home work demand listening and watching TikTok 4h a day.

Or speak in the same manner as this poster and you'll do just fine.

Do you think that I could marry a rich woman...

Is there still time for me?

Also, how can I find one here in Thailand?

I am being completely serous now.

After having been single for more than a decade, to date, I am ready to take the plunge...if....

She has enough money.

Seriously.

Also, I would not spend too much of her money.

I am no Gold-Digger, by any means.

Go find a crazy homeless bag lady, the 2 of you will have lots to discuss in your future years together

Sorry.

If big.

Then...

No.

Some guys are into big.

I am not.

Still, the Sopranos soap-opera was one of my favorites.....

Fat or Thin, I am OK with both.

I will defend my position, through thick or thin.

Assuming you want to be a TEFL teacher, teaching English to adults of mixed nationalities, just doing a CELTA (or equivalent) is sufficient.  There are plenty of TEFL jobs all over the world.  But don't expect to earn much.

Teaching English in Myanmar has got to be on the bottom rung of excitement.
