Is it TM.7 or TM47 when extending a "visa exempt" at immigration for the reason of visiting wife..........?

TM7.

So you are applying for 30 day extension to the visa exempt entry OR 60 day extension to visa wife.

Both use TM7

 

The TM47 is used for 90 day reports

Extend VE 60 day entry by 60 days to visit wife,  (Ubon town office will not on a VE, only give 30 days), so I am going to another office in the Ubon area that I have been told on here does extend 60 days to visit wife via an VE entry.........🤗

Surprised Ubon office will not provide 60 day extension to visit wife from visa exempt entry.

Yes, my friend Joe told me all that many moons ago, I have 'talked' at length with the Ubon town office personnel, they would not budge, 30 days....They told me to do a border run next time to get 60 days...🙄

 

I will report back here as to how I get on at their other Ubon office.....☺️

ALL extension of stays use the same form no matter how long or what reason you're getting the extension for

The OP is referring to 60 day extension to visit wife.

One extension per entry on new visa or visa exempt. 

What is your status currently in Thailand?

Just a bit of forward planning in case I cannot renew my extension for marriage at some time in the future. it would appear that with 2 border runs in a year, I could manage 240 days. Please confirm.

Each border run would provide 60 day visa exempt entry and for each one you could obtain 60 day extension to visit wife. 

I can see how you came up with the 240. 

Note: wife needs to attend immigration with you for the 60 day extension.

Were there not reports that some offices made you get the 30 day normal extension first and then the 60 day? (as they are classified differently).

Obtaining the 30 day extension first is if you want to obtain both a 30 day extension and also 60 extension to visit wife.

You do not have to obtain 30 extension to say visa exempt or tourist visa..

You can skip the 30 day and just obtain the 60.
