   But there are two different versions of the written numbers 

It's important to differentiate between Western and Eastern Arabic numerals. Western Arabic numerals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and Eastern Arabic numerals ١, ٢, ٣, ٤, ٥, ٦, ٧, ٨, ٩ are visually distinct and fundamentally different.

   People thought that the question referred to the Eastern Arabic numbers , ١, ٢, ٣, ٤, ٥, ٦, ٧, ٨, ٩ and when they answered No, you pointed out that Western numbers are called Western Arabic numbers .
