Are more and more mainland Chinese trading in China for a life in Northern Thailand?
Well, based on some of the stories, as we know, many locals are from China and still have relatives there or people there wanting o purchase property (including land) . Some farang spouses or co-habiters with a Chinese connection have indicated purhasing many properties for these Chinese folks. I met some of them coming to my new mooban - about 50 Chinese on a bus! I was doing my daily eveining walk and they stopped me to ask all about the mooban but...I passed speaking Spanish to them instead of English or Thai so they walked away. But I have seen several Chinese move into some of the houses - some from HongKong as they grew tired of the rhetoric from Beijing., Fromwhat I read, The northern part of Laos is now an extension totally Chinese! Thailand might become that too. -

Health Insurance in Thailand After Leaving Employment

If you are in Bangkok, may not be many (note that lists from SS often contain hospitals that are no longer accepting new enrollment). Quality of care varies by hospital. Where in Thailand are you? There are some but pretty weak, much weaker than in Western countries. There is no regulation that prevents exclusion of pre-existing conditions. Thai insurers are allowed to set their premiums by age pretty much as they want (and rates at older age are higher than in the west) and also allowed to raise premiums on an individual basis based on claim history by up to 25% annually. This is why it is best to get an internationally issued expat policy where possible. But if you have significant pre-existing conditions that may be a problem. What exactly are these conditions? -

Massive casinos would be built and the administration would change and the law would change and billions upon billions of dollars would be lost. if there's anything that can be expected from subsequent administrations here, it is inconsistency with regard to policy. -
