Pitbull mauls monk to death in gruesome Nonthaburi temple attack
I mentioned this sort of thing as an example of animal behaviour yersterday when an elephan ran amok due to being scared by fireworks. How many more people have to die as a result of being attacked by these savage beasts? It seems that in Thailand the life of an animal is more important than that of a human:- "With the abbot now gone, the future of Jord hangs in the balance as the temple, understandably, fears keeping him on the premises." The dog should be put down - full stop. NO passing it on to someone who is better qualified to train it - it is beyond training! It had already bitten before this tragic event. Sometimes Buddhist logic is beyond me. If a human kills another human, they are jailed - usually put on Death Row, but if a dog kills a human - find it another owner! Doh! -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
I do not know what tax form you are referring to ??? If one looks at PID.90 (2023): No.1 (1) Section 40 (1) : Salary, wage, pension etc (included exempted income from 2.(4)) No.1 (2) does not address anything to do with Por-161/162 nor DTA exemptions. It only includes (1)Provident fund contributions, (2) Government Pension Fund contributions, (3) Private teacher aid fund contributions, and (4) Serverance Pay under Labour law. The "No.2" is where Assessable income under section 40(3) is ADDED and NOT subtracted. There is no No.2(4) that is 'obvious' unless one refers to "Allowances and Exemptions after Deduction of Expensives Attachment" where "4" is "Parential care". Further if one examines "Allowances and Exemptions after Deduction of Expensives Attachment" here is NO place for Por-161/162 nor DTA exemptions. So that can not be the form you are refering to as what you posted does not align with such. If one tries to exempt DTA, or por-161/162 or LTR exemptions, they will likely be rejected (as there is NO place for those) and one will pay the entire tax on one's income that is supposed to be 100% tax exempt. - - - Ok - so lets look instead at PID.91 (2023) tax computation: A.(1) is Salaries, wages pensions (plus exempted income from B.5). A.(2) is Less exempted income (from B.6) B.5 ? That is Severance Pay under Labour Law. B.6? That is the total of B.1 to B.5 to be filled in A.2 (ie Private fund contribution + Government Pension fund contribution + Private teacher aid fund contribution + Income exemption (limited to ONLY "disabled taxpayer under age-65" and "taxpayer aged 65 years or older (including diabled taxpayer), + Severance pay under labour law. If one then looks at Allowance(s) and Exemption(s) after Deduction of Expense(s) Attachment No where is there ANY location for DTA exempt income, nor for por-161/162 exempt income, nor for LTR exempt income. Once again, if one tries to exempt DTA, or por-161/162 or LTR exemptions, they will likely be rejected (as there is NO place for those) and one will pay the entire tax on one's income that is supposed to be 100% tax exempt. == I caution EVERYONE reading this thread and in particular that post of Cyclist (that I quoted) to be very careful in reading this to not rush into trying to fill in a form per what Cyclist posted - as frankly - from what I can see, what you posted does NOT ALLIGN with the official Thai tax forms (where I used the 2023 tax forms in this example). However I also looked at a Google translation of the Thai language 2024 tax forms it they have the same issue. If anyone tries to FORCE an exemption in the wrong box, it might be rejected and you will pay tax on income that is supposed to be tax exempt. I recommend to be VERY careful - as the tax forms do NOT support DTA, nor por-161/162, nor LTR exempt income exemptions. -

Rift Between Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper Over Grooming Gangs Crisis Deepens
Disgraceful handling of this horrific affair by the Labour government but the Tories did nothing about it on their watch either. -

Thai Army Day Ceremony Ends in Tragedy
Having visited a few Army and Airforce Bases over the years and seen the slack lives they all live here it doesn't surprise me one bit that there are 'Accidents' on a fairly regular basis !
