He also promoted Thai nationalism by paying off the IMF loan early, by blaming foreigners for the Thais' very own economic mismanagement which ultimately led to the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997 and a global financial disaster.

Of course none of this was their fault as usual and no responsibility was taken. 🧐

I have learned never to listen to Thais giving financial advice. 👍🏼

Causing problem(introducing Reaganomics copycat policy to Thailand) and blame foreigners.

Typical Pheu Thai manipulation taking advantage of common people's overall ignorance.

Rub Blinken and Sullivan together and the US Asian-Pivot genie - Thaksin - pops out of a bottle.  Just a guess.

The former is a proxy for the latter.  To quote Leonard Cohen, "Everybody Knows."

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Thaskin and his Goverment did nothing, even the present Goverment does nothing in regard Human Rights look at the Goverment action on TAK BAI  Thailand is not intrested in Human Rights, cost too much money lives are cheap

International Harm Reduction Association and Human Rights Watch

The Thai government must be held to its human rights obligations and in particular its duty to prevent extrajudicial, summary and arbitrary executions.

All CND member states must unambiguously denounce any resumption of policies in Thailand that violate human rights.

  • The Thai government must announce publicly that it will not proceed with a renewal of killings and other human rights violations in the name of a "war on drugs."
  • The Thai government must immediately and fully investigate the killings and other human rights abuses that took place in the context of the 2003 war on drugs and bring the perpetrators of human rights violations to justice.
  • The Thai government must adopt integrated and comprehensive drug strategies that comply fully with all human rights and fundamental freedoms.
  • All countries with close ties to Thailand should ensure that drug control measures adopted in Thailand are in full conformity with the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations, including full respect for all human rights.

Thaksin's brilliance is wasted on a country like Thailand.  He should go to the United States and help them eliminate their national debt.  Should be trivial for him to get rid of the US$36 trillion the state owes.

The guy should be Assasinated or locked up for life, he is a convicted felon, killer, he is keeping Thailand as a backwater country, maybe one day the Thais will remove the blinfold and realise what the likes of Prayut, Thaskin, has done to this country.

B.S.

It was Thaksin(and successive regime) that promoted the debt-oriented consumption among Thai public while in office.

Encouraging even low-income households to own cars.

As a result, Thai Credit Association issued an warning in 2013: The amount of individual debt was at the alarming level.

100% correct

The Shins don't have that problem
