History has proven proven property increases in value over the long term. The same can not be said for stock. Some stocks go to worthless, and the company goes bust, and is dissolved. Not the same same as property. -

Who is supplying the weapons? Who is allowing their use and to strike into Russian territory? the US is fuelling war and using Ukraine to do it. If you don't know that then you shouldn't comment on these threads -

Not sure what you mean exactly by interest. Within a typical IRA are a usually smallish cash transfer portion plus all kinds of mutual funds, ETFs, individual stocks and all kinds of other random stuff in some IRAs. Yes usually there are typically annual dividend earnings. Then you sell various stuff into your cash transfer portion and then and only if you withdraw anything out of the account from the cash portion which may be a complex mix is it a US taxable event (but not if Roth). How to account for all that? Personally I think the opinion that the full withdrawal amount would be treated as income makes the most logical sense. Even with regular outside retirement account investments it's irrelevant if you held them for 50 years before a non-Thai tax resident -- the Thai tax if remitted while a Thai tax resident would be based on any profit based on the basis which again could be ancient. -

I filed my 2567 return online last Saturday, using the Thai forms of course. Only income listed was Thai-sourced interest and dividends. Remittances were non-assessable, so not declared. Requested full refund of all taxes withheld. Return was accepted, printed out final copy and tax receipt. Checked online status this evening, status is "approved and refunded." Once the refund letter is printed, I should get an SMS notifying that a refund has been mailed. Expect to receive that in 2-3 weeks. No upload of documentation required (bank withholding statement, dividend receipts). TRD appears to have access to bank and brokerage databases to confirm my submission. -
