In the early hours of January 19, military personnel patrolling the Thai-Myanmar border apprehended 32 Indonesian nationals illegally crossing into Thailand. The group, consisting of 30 men and two women, was intercepted near Ban Wang Takian Tai, Village 7, Tha Sai Luat Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province.

A wild elephant known as "Si Daosap" charged at a farmer, severely injuring him after he attempted to drive the animal away from his plantation in Trat Province. The incident occurred at around 12:00 on January 19, when 43-year-old Anan, the plantation owner, fired a loud fire cracker in an attempt to chase the elephant away, fearing for his crops.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecasted cold to very cold weather across northern and northeastern Thailand, with temperatures dropping to single digits. Bangkok will see temperatures as low as 18 degrees Celsius. Additionally, five provinces are expected to experience thunderstorms today, January 20.

Firefighters Battle Blaze at Naval Housing in Sattahip

Firefighters, some of whom had only just returned from a two-day battle against a forest fire on Khao Krathing, were thrust into action again in the early hours of January 20. At 03:30, a fire broke out at a naval housing complex in Bang Saray subdistrict, triggering an immediate multi-agency response.

Bangkok and 64 out of 76 provinces in Thailand experienced unsafe levels of PM2.5 dust pollution this morning, January 20, with 28 provinces reaching hazardous red levels. Samut Sakhon reported the most severe air pollution.

Woman accused of visa fraud arrested in Bangkok

A woman accused of visa fraud, who had closed her company after receiving 10 arrest warrants and causing damages exceeding 3 million baht, was arrested while working as a dishwasher in Bangkok. The arrest took place on Saturday, January 18 in front of a restaurant in the Chom Thong district.
