Before April 2016 (basic state pension) you could opt to be paid weekly. Seems possible that fortnightly may have been an option too.

New state pension is paid 4-weekly or 13-weekly.

I looked on the DWP web site and it mentioned the choice was weekly or 4 weekly. I applied to get it weekly as I was struggling to budget on a 4 weekly basis. Even monthly would be better, at least you know where you were instead of the stupid different day in the month. But I only got it every 2 weeks which a lot better that 4 weekly. Better off in my bank account than in the DWP's.

Isn't the registration automatic now. Unless you notify them it has changed it just rolls forward. It does for me but I live in the UK.

Looks like registration now lasts for 3 years for overseas voters.

You still have to register at your last UK address which can be problematic for those who have been away some time.

You should avoid arbitrary references to the situation in the UK, thread is based on non UK resident.

Choices on overseas application is 4 weeks or 13 weeks.

I looked at my online Personal Tax Account yesterday and, as expected, HMRC had reduced my tax code for 25/26 based on their assumption that I got the CoL increase of 4%, which I don't. I phoned them as soon as the phone lines opened, asked them to correct it and the change appeared in my PTA about 15 minutes later.

No difficulty at all - unless you call listening to endless 'helpful information', "your call is important to us" and %#@&*!& awful music a 'difficulty'.

I also fired off a complaint, via the online complaints page, to HMRC re. the constant need to correct them.

I did exactly the same yesterday as soon as the phone lines opened and finally got to speak to a very helpful guy who understood what i was saying. I also pointed out to him that my ''next tax year 6 April 2025'' was also showing the pension increase despite not qualifying for any increase, he agreed to amend that along with the tax year 24/25.

Now i've just checked my Government Gateway account and to date there have been no adjustments so i have'nt managed your ''15 minutes later'' hmmmmmmmmmm.............

In my experience, it can take a couple of days for the changes to appear in the HMRC app.

So exactly where did you find the changes evidenced ? I'm using my UK Government Gateway Account to access ''Your PAYE Income Tax summary for 6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025'' and '' Income Tax comparison : current tax year and next tax year'' which clearly show the amount of weekly state pension, in my case £135 pw for 2024 - 2025 and 140 pw for 2025 - 2026, these amounts include the triple lock pension increases which i'm obviously not receiving.

I don't have state pension but next to my income there is an option to update these figures in the "Check next tax year" section.  Do you have this?

Yes i have the ''Update estimated income'' but it only referring to INCOME i receive from my company pension scheme and does'nt include my State Pension which is shown separatly, thats how i can establish that the figures quoted are incorrect cos they include the UK triple lock increases that i don't receive.

Now i can try to update these incorrect SP figures but its not proving successful, their system is not allowing it for some inexplicable reason ?????? thats why i'm on the phone to them. I have many years ago got them to correct these figures and received substantial tax refunds for many years of overpayment but this problem is continually present each and every year.

Their system is basically F***** and they don't seem capable of correcting it once and for all or they could'nt GAF.

Now WHERE or WHO is supplying this info to HMRC or do they just come up with the figure assuming i receive the SP increases despite them having my Thailand address so not being eligible, that is the question, the plot thickens lol

Under PAYE Income Tax Summary, you can see (well I can) your updated tax code and new estimated taxable income on your state pension. If your SP still include the yearly increases, then "they" haven't applied the changes you requested. When I logged on to the HMRC app a couple of days after asking them to correct my SP figures, I culd see the revised tax code & SP estimated taxable income. I also got a message stating I was due a tax refund.

Thanks for that, your guy has clearly done what he said he was going to do. You mention evidencing by seeing your revised tax code and SP estimated taxable income, well my PAYE Income Tax Summary actually quotes my SP figure at the bottom of the page, does yours not ?

Yes, my SP estimated taxable income is listed in the tax summary under "Other Income". Perhaps I should have said "corrected SP estimated taxable income"
