The move comes after the order sparked widespread criticism and confusion. A federal district judge had temporarily paused the freeze.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump's administration on Wednesday rescinded an order putting a widespread freeze on most federal grants and loans amid significant criticism, according to a new White House memo a source provided to NBC News.

A senior administration official confirmed the rescission Wednesday, which was ordered by the Office of Management and Budget.

(from AP) But Democrats said the White House had overreached beyond what Americans want.

“Most people voted for cheaper eggs,” said Sen. Martin Heinrich of New Mexico. “They did not vote for this chaos.”

The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to X (formerly Twitter) to deny the news, explaining only an OMB memo on the matter was rescinded in the wake of legal challenges the order has faced.

“This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze. It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo,” Leavitt wrote. “The President’s EO’s on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented.”

I'll let you Google that one.  It's a quote from an "unapproved source".

I don't know.  You'll have to ask someone who used the word.  I don't see it in my post, nor the quote.
