A Thai friend who is officiating at her local polling station tells me that voter turnout today is very low.  Local/Provincial elections regularly have low turnouts but she says that so far, this is the lowest she's seen.

Considering what happened in the General Election, if this turnout is a reflected in other areas, who could blame voters for being apathetic.

When came back from shopping today and put on 3BB TV - all the channels were showing but when you picked one - nothing - is that another election day paradigm in Thailand and do the powers that be really think either one has an impact on turnout

There'll be plenty of Lao Khao around - they'll have been wrecked since 7am.

And plenty of Ganga. No booze but cannabis is OK.

Because they are all out trying to find places to buy beer.

Not in the local shop in my village, I sat there and had a couple of Leo's on Saturday afternoon, nobody batted a eyelid.

Business as normal.
