Authorities conducted a late-night raid on a large illegal gambling den in Nakhon Nayok, arresting over 100 individuals, many of them elderly. The venue, which had been operating with high security and modern facilities, was shut down by law enforcement in a coordinated operation.

The raid was carried out at approximately 23:00 on 3 February 2025 by the Special Operations Unit of the Department of Provincial Administration. Reports indicate that the operation was meticulously planned, with officers storming the premises in force.

Upon arrival, authorities found a large number of vehicles parked outside the locked facility. Inside, over 100 people were actively engaged in various forms of gambling. The sudden appearance of law enforcement caused widespread panic, with some gamblers attempting to flee or hide under tables, but all were eventually detained.

Officials confirmed that the venue had been operating with extensive security measures, including CCTV surveillance. The facility was also air-conditioned, indicating it had been running for a significant period.

Authorities have launched further investigations to identify those responsible for managing the illegal operation. Officials have pledged to intensify crackdowns on gambling dens across the province, citing concerns over criminal activity and public order.

Those arrested are expected to face legal proceedings, while law enforcement continues efforts to track down the organisers behind the operation.

Thought the reseut of a poll said Thais were against gambling ?

That was legal gambling.  24 people with 850 baht between them are not going to last long in a casino.
