CallumWK Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago In case nobody noticed. There was a similar topic in December 2024, stating that the Baht would weaken to over 35 baht against the USD. The baht has only strengthened since that topic. Yesterday new topic claiming the same, although they were wrong first time, and the baht has again only strengthened since. 1
Schoggibueb Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I'm really no financial expert. But who pays the higher tariffs? It will be the people in the US, not the Thais, Chinese or ... Let's say that the exports from Thailand will drop by 10%. Will that influence the THB? And if so - for sure not 10%. So the looser are the people of USA. But I don't really feel sorry for them. They choosed him, so they have to stick with it - nothing unfair.

Not if they buy different goods which is the point of tariffs to change purchasing behaviour.

digger70 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Thai Baht Set to Weaken as US Tariff Tensions Escalate. Nah, All speculation Nothing much is going to change . 1

Emmm, what exactly does USA produce at a equal or better quality/price that could be imported to Thailand? Thats the biggest problem of USA. Except weapons and "IT" absolutley nothing.
Isaan sailor Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago If the baht continues its decline and breaks through the resistance threshold of 34-34.10 per dollar, it might challenge the 34.20 zone next," he suggested. Well, that didn’t age well…
SingAPorn Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Any falang paying more then 1000 THB for a massage with happy end and a few lille extras, is a fool. 1 1
SingAPorn Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The proper rate must be that any foreigner giving 1 euro at the exchange counter in Thailand, must get at least 40 Thai Bhat. Nothing less. 🙏..if not exports and the economy will badly suffer with a Bhat that is to strong. A strong bhat is only good for the hi-so and those wanting to sneak out their billions from Thailand to some Swiss Bank hidden in a Swiss scenic village. 2

Switzerland has meanwhile stricter regulations than lots of other countries. Your imagination of "swiss banking thinking from the 1980s". Above of 10'000CHF, regardless if swiss, foreinger, rich or poor HAS to be declared and clearly documented from where the money comes from. Most of the banks in Switzerland don't accept any accounts from people outside of the EU. The movie industry still loves to use this stereotype. But thats not the reality. 1
