The absolutely limitless amount of freedumb lovers who think that tariffs are "good" or that everything should be "made in freedumbland", is quite astoni-----, err, par for the course. But doesn't change their soap grade IQ.

Are you criticizing Trump's tariffs or Thailand's tariffs?

What is "ethane"? Is it the same as "ethanol"?

Sorry, English is not my first language 🙂

UPDATE: Ethane (C₂H₆) is a colorless, odorless, flammable gas that's found in natural gas and petroleum. It's used as a fuel, in chemical manufacturing, and as a freezing agent.

Same as saying benzine here in Thailand whereas you'd just say gasoline in the US.

Wow!  The UK "rogers" there citizens with a 20% VAT?  Criminey!
"Bend over commoners and let Uncle Starmer and friends have their way with you."

Only 5 European countries have VAT rates below 20%. In EU countries it ranges from 17% to 27%.

With the US of a.. holes gone full fascist, it's best to boycott American goods.

I have started checking labels, and, as much as possible, steer clear of US products.

Buy Canadian /European / Australian etc, give Trumpland the finger.

Meaningless to me, I don't buy American foodstuffs.

I do buy Kindle books, don't know how tariffs would affect them.

What can you buy from Canada besides maple syrup? All the rest is made under licence and super expensive.

Oil and gas, Canada supplies 50% of America's needs.

If they sell it to the Europeans and Chinese instead, the US has queues forming at every gas station.

You can now order most stuff online from Amazon in the US with free shipping to Thailand, making it much more cost-effective to order stuff now from the US. The only killer at present is the added on Thai import duties.

Indeed, look at this for one of my January orders from Amazon :

I ordered a couple of pairs of jeans and some shoes.

Every country needs income to pay the costs a country ahs to amke. Some do that by higher wage/income taxes, others - seen not so perfect system to monitor the income of its citizens- by import duty. Especially less organised countrioes need that way.

Solve it by taxing all Americans living in Thailand with the same level as they had to pay in the USA. Import duty of US goods for US citizens living in Thailand can be reduced then.
