I have a plan to fly to Vientiane next week, stop overnight and fly back to Thailand at Don Muang using a visa on arrival. It will be my 2nd in a row after flying in 3 months ago after 6 months away.

Easy right?

Thanks in advance

Do you mean "VOA"  -  or visa exempt?

Just seen this from a FB page

"New 60 day on arrival visa, arrived in November on 60 day tourist visa and got 30 day extension at Buriram, went to Vietnam for a week, arrived back in Bangkok and they would not let me back in the Kingdom, said I was staying too long, put me in a room with a bunch of Africans, luckily my partner of 5 years was with me and she had to sign a form and after an hour I was allowed in,"

That was lucky.

Usually once you are taken to the airport underground detention centre, it is difficult to talk your way out.

Possibly "the room" was before you are led down underground. And that may be why the girlfriend was still with him.

Bad plan.

In the main as it's minimal time out of Thailand and using airport entry.

If you opt for that I suggest you consider a "safe entry" agent...

Since you are based in Bangkok, you didn't consider land crossing border bounce agent from Bangkok or Pattaya to Cambodia
