Thailand is not that great

Smoke , heat and near to zero world class culture. 2 months and I'm done and I'm missing next year. It's 'cheap' for a reason.

  • It's been great for me. A woman who will look after me until I draw my last breath, an affordable cost of living.   Perhaps you just don't know where to look, or how to.

C'mon.... there are so many temples to see...    Seriously though... dig deeper....  plenty to do and see in Thailand....    There are also far more similarities here than differen

Hey, I have a great idea, why don't you go back where you came from and leave this sponge cake to all of us happy chaps.

You sound like a lot of fun, mud cakes and all.

You must be one of those guys cheering Robbie songs from 20 years ago.

Talking about the US again?

Everything is 2nd class.

With your daily post count there would have been no time for that

You played 9 holes of golf cause you are not fit enough to play 18. Not exactly a winner.

I assume you only do pitch and put in that case!

I played 10 holes of golf, you can't add.

I used to play 72 hole tournaments over a weekend when I was younger. I play the amount of golf I can enjoy, and don't take any notice of bitter trolls on ASEAN, who get their sick kicks out of trying to bait people.

Every day, you drift further left on the IQ bell curve.

OK Mr Three SD's on the left side.

But there is Lisa who chooses not to live there - my wife will brook not the slightest word of critcism of her.

Since his fingers are always on the keyboard and his brain is disengaged how does he ever get any self satisfaction I wonder!

He certainly cannot be blind!

Nothing to do with Robbie, although I do like his music.

Lol...coming from the poster who took sick days every Monday morning , expect a call from Ted every Monday at 8am..."I'm sick today "

This made sense in your head.

Video games don't count.

Don't you think the nightlife is kind of sad? Guys getting excited over old pop music, microwave fish n chips and the male to female ratio in English Pubs is 8 to 1 while the women are barely 4s.

Neither do you.

I find Thailand a very relaxing place to stay. As long as you are decent and respectful the people are great and the facilities like shops, restaurants, cinemas and gyms are of a western standard in the major spots.

However, it can be bureaucratic at times and the new and confusing tax laws means that I will never spend more than 180 days here. So I will keep on visiting and enjoying living here but I will keep property and assets in the home country, whose tax system I can easily navigate.

I have already. I ate prawn bisque, chicken confit, massaman chicken and affrogato for dinner. All nice but guess what no atmosphere in restaurant same as most.

Temples are nearly all the same. Muay Thai is a 2nd tier sport.

You are obviously leaving Thailand permanently (thank whatever deity you believe in) and not just for a few days if that is your warped attitude to Thailand!

Good riddance and continue to infect your own country with your vile attitude and actions!

Please do NOT hurry back!

The atmosphere on a train is more exciting than an English pub.

That was weak.

I don't need the nightlife, been there, done that, very empty. Happily married 18 years, she's a great cook, "she take good care me & love me long time" true to her word.

I do go out to a local pub couple of nights a week, community style where everyone knows everyone and we watch each other drop off of the perch every now and again. I have a couple of drinks, listen to the usual BS, and shoot some stick then I'm home.

We travel domestically couple of times a year, and internationally every 3 years.

Nice big comfortable house in a village, retired and making money, cost of living here is cheap, no mortgage, no overheads, 20 years younger wife who's my bestie, what more could a bloke ask for ?

I thought it was Nigerian snake oil that was used according to my bar girls Nigerian friend!

I love it as I have already travel the world twice, raised our kids, now it's just us and as I said to her this morning over coffee, dang life is so stressful, we are always in a hurry to get to work (not) and the high taxes are killing me (not).

I said we should take a trip down to Ko Samui for a week, she said why not two, I said let's see ho the $'s got because you know how expensive things are here, her nearly choking on her coffee.

Yes, boring for some, not for others.

I hope you find what your looking for, because I truly have, and I am as content as a dog licking his #$%^, so to speak, as I look over towards my dog.

That's it for me, off to bed, nite nite

Had buffalo in East Timor when it was still under Portuguese control.

$10 a day per couple bought accommodation, breakfast, 3 course lunch, 5 course dinner with wine, shoe shine and laundry.

IIRC the average wage there was $5 a month.
