In Rayong, Thailand, a man slapped a nurse at Rayong Hospital for preventing his young child from entering a ward, aiming to protect the child's health. The incident, which unfolded on February 17, was shared by the nurse's sister on Facebook, sparking widespread outrage.

The altercation began when the nurse advised the man's wife against bringing their child into the hospital room, citing safety concerns. Angered by the warning, the husband confronted the nurse and struck her twice. The hospital reported the incident to local authorities, but the man remained unrepentant, reportedly stating, "I should have slapped her outside the hospital."

When the story gained traction online, the man claimed the nurse had insulted his wife, leading to his reaction. His wife explained that the child's presence was meant to comfort her flu-stricken mother, who was staying at the hospital. She alleged that the nurse's stern warning upset her, especially the comment, “Losing a mother isn’t enough? Do you want to lose your child as well?”

The nurse later acknowledged she made the statement but insisted it was intended to prioritize the child’s health. She stated that other staff had repeatedly advised the family about the risks, prompting her to enforce the rule firmly.

Despite understanding the family's emotional distress, the assaulted nurse is pursuing legal action, emphasizing her surprise and distress that such violence occurred while she was performing her duty, reported The Thaiger.

As for as I know. There is almost no chance to lose your child if they get sick from their flu-stricken mother. I am also very sure that all hospitals have visiting hours that permit family/children in to see their mother unless she was in special care ward.

Do not think a few slaps should have happened though. He could have easily gone to the hospital admin and admonished this nurse and gotten his way.

The director of the hospital could have and most likely would have made a way for this just to save face for the hospital.

Nurse should be compensated by this gutless Thai aggressor, she definitely should have him charged as well, wander how he would have handled a male nurse. Take his picture post it so others can see who does this.

You have to watch the video!

This was NOT "two slaps"!

This Ahole actually could have easily given her a broken bone or concussion.

I hope and pray that she wins at least a few million baht in compensation, AND the guy is locked up, coward that he is, using his full strength on a defenceless woman!

Refuse to treat the mother and ban the family from entering hospital. Let them go elsewhere.

What did the mother do?

Disappointingly, this scum looks like he has nothing...  and behaves in a manner with nothing to lose.

I am somewhat curious what the nurse said (and tone) to trigger such a rapid violent response, but none of that excuses by any step of the imagination any physical attack or even a verbal assault...

This man needs to be placed behind bars - this is an unprovoked attack on medical staff...  there is no excuse, none whatsoever....    If he's not already, he should be behind bars right now !
