Police in Buriram, Thailand, arrested two vendors selling e-cigarettes and kratom drinks outside a school after a 12-year-old girl suffered severe lung damage from nearly two years of use. The girl, a student in the Satuek district, was hospitalized after experiencing vomiting and breathing difficulties. Doctors revealed her lungs were almost entirely damaged from prolonged vaping and kratom consumption since she was 11.

Reports indicate that her daily kratom drink intake was around 1,500 milliliters. Two friends of the young girl were also found to engage in similar activities. Previously, a 15-year-old in the same area died from using e-cigarettes, while eight others were hospitalized.

Investigations led authorities to a shop selling these products illegally near the school. On February 20, police raided the location, run by an 84-year-old woman named Lao and a 27-year-old man named Darawit. The raid uncovered e-cigarettes, kratom drinks, cough medicine, and an illegal firearm. They admitted selling without age restrictions, even to school students.

The suspects face multiple charges, including producing and selling kratom drinks without permission, distributing prescription drugs illegally, importing prohibited goods like e-cigarettes, and possessing a firearm without a permit. Penalties range from fines to imprisonment, underscoring the seriousness of their actions and the necessity for stricter regulations to prevent underage access to harmful substances, reported The Thaiger.

Are the netizens outraged now too??? Or is it only if tourists vape?? There much more wrong with wrongdoings of Thai people than the few foreigners.. But in fact the only ones to blame is the RTP. They should start to work and check, and the people should have permissions form the Chambre of Commerce to start a business, with a businessplan, location and how and what... but there is a lack of everything that is why Thailand is becoming more and more messy.. The mai pen rai attitude makes that people can do as they want, because nobody cares about anything. This is another example.. Why did the school or teachers not file a complaint about what they were selling? Nobody checks anything

They are around every school, not just in Buriram. They don’t care about the age and the police don’t enforce it unless something bad happens.

Not a lot of cash sized in this 'raid'.

Twenty (20) Baht and two (2) ecigs.

Meanwhile, Police seized 260 kilograms of ketamine and other illicit drugs in Bangkok's Khan Na Yao district Thursday.
