In a shocking turn of events in Bangkok last night, a university security guard was tragically stabbed to death following an altercation over a cancelled food order. The incident unfolded in the Phatthanakan 37 area, when 49-year-old Piangjai Khiao Nil confronted a delivery rider, identified as 36-year-old Akkhawit Rattanachokchai.

Piangjai, dedicated and well-liked among his colleagues, informed Akkhawit that no food order was pending, sparking a heated exchange. In a moment of unprovoked rage, Akkhawit pulled a knife and stabbed Piangjai in the stomach. Despite Piangjai’s attempts to seek help, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

This tragic event came to public attention thanks to a notorious Facebook page and was swiftly reported by local police. Khlong Tan police, led by Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, managed to apprehend Akkhawit hours later, finding him with the weapon and his motorbike.

The incident has left the community in shock, highlighting the devastating consequences of uncontrolled anger and violence. Coworkers and family have expressed disbelief and heartbreak, with Piangjai's wife mourning the sudden loss.

As investigations continue, this incident serves as a grim reminder of the thin line separating everyday disputes from fatal outcomes, reported The Thaiger.

A myth.

I've worked in many countries around the World and Thailand is the only country where I have actually seen someone getting stabbed and that was over 20 years ago.

I think Grab, Lazada and other well known companies should do away with cash on delivery. A lot less problems without this ancient delivery payments.
