Trump: EU was formed to 'screw' the United States

No cult follower here, I personally can't stand him.

There is always pain with any change. Would it be painful for awhile, yup. In the end theres not a single thing we get from the EU that we couldn't get elsewhere or produce ourselves. It would require many business's to pivot in another direction or die.

I personally don't care how any of the world looks at us. I only care that America takes care of America
As for the video, the American public needs to see exactly what they saw, how the real world works.

Sounds like the right wing in the UK prior to Brexit: "They need us more than we need them", "we hold all the cards", "We'll do our own deals and they'll be better"etc. Didn't work out too well did it. None of that was true. And neither would it be with the US.

So you have zero examples of what America couldn't live without from the EU.

Just more word salad

Not surprising at all

Jeez, why can none of you guys read?? I listed a load of examples already.

The EU was form to keep the dollar as world currency, replace the dollar as world currency America will become a third world country

And, in order to keep the dollar as world currency, the EU created the euro! :coffee1:

It probably could live without anything from the EU, but not at zero cost.

It would just trigger some economic turmoil. You know  the kind of economic disturbance which usually leads to a defeat at the next election for the ruling party....:coffee1:

Another blinkered person who can't read. Try again.

It was a question of what would happen if the US severed ties with Europe. A Trump fan boy claimed the US didn't need Europe and basically wouldn't notice. I was pointing out how blinkered he was and how closely intertwined the two are and what the consequences would be if ties were severed. Got it?

Fan boys think the US is so almighty it can exist on its own. They just don't realise how interdependent the two entities are. Go, cut yourselves off,, it will be funny.

I didn't ask you what would happen to the US without europe.
Reading is fundamental and you need to go read it again.
You said the USA wouldn't survive without europe. I asked to please explain what it is they bring to the table that we couldn't survive without.

In typical liberal fashion, you chose to avoid the question, throw out your little insults and then change the question to suit the new narrative your trying to spew.

As an aside, the eu could have been a super power but instead they chose to go woke and are dying because of it.  Really sad to see.

Nobody said there would be zero cost to Americans. Can't be any worse than the cost we've already paid.

What Americans "paid" to Europe and others was what they cannot competitively produce.

If they don't buy it from Europe, they will buy it from other countries...same same! 🤣

Since you stuck your toe in the water, please tell the class what those things are. The last guy was much like you, opinions and feelings are all he had, zero facts.

How does that change the fact that a trade war between the U.S. and Europe, would trigger economic turmoil. You know  the kind of economic disturbance which usually leads to a defeat at the next election for the ruling party (midterms come to mind), smartass? 😆

First off, please stop with the name calling and insults, I'm talking to you, trying to have a civil conversation.  You made a claim, I asked for facts, you turn to google.  I'm not opening your link, if you're too lazy to post them here, thats not my job. I can give you facts and legit examples without having to do that.

Americans understand that there would be hard times and most are willing to accept that if it means we get our country back.
Europe will die an agonizing death if you remain woke.  Its going to suck to be you.

My claim was not about the structure of EU's trade with the U.S., so I'm not going to waste my time looking for information for you. If you want to make a point about it, feel free to use your time for it.

What a joke! You rant about others not providing facts, but you don't provide any! 😆

That’s quite a stretched even from a MAGA viewpoint.

Europe including UK has a military force of about 1.4 million and Europe out trade US in terms of economy.

Europe in the past rely on top US General as their Supreme Commander will now have to re-organized their command structure. They will have to increase their military weaponries quickly and they can debt fund the money necessary for the estimated 250 B Euro for the military hardwares.

It’s a shame that Trump has destroyed and abandoned the transatlantic alliance and leave Europe in a lurch when the alliance is so needed against Russia aggression.

The US doesn't need the EU's overpriced, over regulated tat.

The EU is old news. Uncompetitive. Un-cooperative.

Kick them to the curb Donald.

I didn't make any claims other than to say America would survive just fine without the eu. Thats still true.
The other poster, claimed that America would die without the eu and the things they produce. You jumped in the pool and have failed to show these examples, again, I'm not doing your work for you.

You didn't change the link, it was broke and you fixed it, why would you need to lie about something so stupid ?  That tells me everything I need to know about you.

Maybe you could read what I posted. I did not claim the U.S. would die without the EU. I claimed it would have economic and electoral consequences.😆

And please stop splitting hairs. I changed the link (not the source). The first one was the link when using Google. The second one was the direct link. I am surprised you don't understand that.

You clearly misunderstood what I meant. I didn't say a word about what was paid to the eu.
I was talking about the price we've paid already living in clown world, aka, a woke world. America has suffered greatly because of that, thankfully, it can and will be corrected.
Cutting ties with the rest of the world is a great place to start. Closing every military base we have, burning everything to the ground or shipping it home, putting our military on our own boarders where they belong.
Oh but our allies, what a joke. Nobody is our friend unless they have their hand out. We don't need any of them. Theres not a single thing we can't produce AND we have the ability to feed ourselves. Not a lot of other places can say that.

Again, just what is it we can't live without ?

Yes, there will be pain for all of us but what a glorious thing to see.

From an economic POV, Isolationism is an failed model. It would mean that the U.S. economy would be less efficient.

From a geostrategical POV, that's short-termism.

China will dominate the world. The only question is when. The U.S. can currently oppose China alone. It won't be able to do that forever. One day, it will need strong allies.

It is a failed model long term, thats not what we need. We just need to close up shop and get our house in order. Thats absolutely doable and wouldn't take a terrible amount of time. Total wag there.
Thats when we'll find our true allies. Thats what matters.

China is far from doing well and its only getting worse for them. Economically they are failing with a growth rate @ 2-3% not the 5% they claim. At least according to most economists.
Their rapidly declining birthrate isn't helping them and they've had that issue for quite awhile, though we have that as well.

Please do. We are tired of making ourselves a nuclear target for you. We provide about one-third to one half of your global surveillance system, I guess you won't miss it if you have withdrawn into Fortress Amerika.

We certainly don't need a cockeyed deal to buy 6-8 of your obsolete nuclear submarines for $360 billion, when we could have 24 conventional brand new ones.

I think you can live with inefficiently smelting raw steel from taconite with 30% Fe content, while other nations make it with 60% Fe ore. You can also live with driving front-end ploughing  rust buckets as well.

I am not so sure you can do without the 50% of oil Canada supplies you, and you are nowhere near mining any of the rare earths you need for your home-grown smartphones and TV's. Going back to B&W is an option.

You certainly have the ability to feed yourselves, going by the 70% of Americans that are either overweight or obese.

Perhaps your rose-tinted glasses obscure the fact the USA has its own clown world.

You're the ones that wanted them, changed your mind ? Nobody cares. You certainly can't build your own though so someone is getting your money. India would probably help you out. lol

BFD, we could go back and fourth all day like that. We can adjust.

Canada supplies about 40% of the oil we import. Very different from what you're claiming. We have the ability and the resources to be a net exporter and not import at all, we've done it before

You certainly have the ability to feed yourselves, going by the 70% of Americans that are either overweight or obese.

Yup, Calif. alone supplies 40% of the food we consume. Meanwhile we are the largest exporter of corn and rice. Luckily, they have the ability to pivot and grow other things.

Part of that clown world is the proposition you can supply your own oil needs.

Shale oil is a Red Queen's race, that's why the expression drill baby drill came into being. Production can decline by 70% in the first year.

Check out the level of debt most shale oil companies have. Unlike conventional oil wells, that can produce for 30-50 years, most shale oil wells are no longer economic after 5 years.
