They were talking about stuff that should not have been in front of cameras, Zelensky was made to look like a beggar and degraded in my opinion.

Classic Trump in front of the cameras ever since his Apprentice days, but Vance what a dick head he was just sticking his oar in to escalate the confrontation.

They wanted to bait this clown and show the country who they're dealing with. A petulant child who isn't going to negotiate in good faith. He literally called JD a bitch to his face.

A/ Zelensky knew exactly what he was doing.

B/  Zelensky really is a comedian pretending to be a president and doesn't have a clue.

IMO.

What does that make Trump then?

Wonder how he would do in Zelensky’s shoes… a country with minimal resources at hand, having previously given up all their nukes, being ravaged by one of the maddest regimes in history. He would be totally lost as he is just a businessman.

Any sort of affection I may have had for the bloke was totally shot with that debacle. Diplomacy 101: you do not embarrass and talk down to a head of state in your house. As for that donkey of a sidekick of his, who the actual F does he think he is? He should stfu and only open is trap when he’s spoken to.

One of the most cringeworthy things I have ever seen. The human race just took a giant step back. Only wish that weakling Starmer would grow a pair and tell Trump and the US to go and do one.

He has been fighting a war for the last 3 years that he has been very close to, so to take cr4p from Vance who probably couldn't even shadow box himself I'd have called him a bitch too :coffee1:

He was combat celebritiy photographer, first class. Literally spent his tour in Iraq photographing birthday cakes and handshakes. Purple heart for incurring paper cuts. He was only in the Marines to get a free handout from government (pay for his school fees that his crackhead mother didn't have).

Lol, this is why you lost the election. Pure emotions from the left. I really don't care if you think trump or jd are the devil himself, calling them a bitch to their face when you're there to beg for money is hilariously stupid, especially stupid to do it to Trump of all people who has a very big ego. I'm honestly surprised Trump didn't cut all support right then and there and deport Zelensky to Moscow.

Before aligning with Trump, Vance was a vocal critic, even comparing him to Adolf Hitler during the 2016 election cycle.
Goes to show how fickle the people running the US are!!!

Sorry, but since the Euros ran down their military and let the US do the heavy lifting, they have nothing. Britain spent all the money on two aircraft carriers that don't work very well, and need US aircraft because Britain doesn't make it's own any more. Starmer knows he needs the US more than the US needs Britain.

As for Trump and Vance, haven't you lot been telling us for ages that they are both useless losers- did you expect anything different, LOL, LOL, LOL?

Zelensky came as a beggar wanting the US to cover his ass, and then did his best to embarrass Trump in public. He should read that "art of the deal" book to understand how Trump works. Stroke him a bit, offer him what he wants and then likely he'll give something back. Arguing with Trump in front of the media- how to alienate friends and make enemies 101.

So long Ukraine, it's been real.

With comments like that, does anyone think Ukraine isn't doomed now? Diplomacy 101- don't PO the guy you want to give you protection.

If I was a front line cannon fodder in Ukraine now, I'd be seriously concerned as to my survival prospects.

I doubt anyone on the front line fighting a war for 3 years would give a flying F about what Donald Trump thinks, they are a fairly resilient bunch these Ukrainians the US could learn a lot!
If they stopped sending money to Ukraine it wouldn't stop them fighting the war and many other countries in the world would probably fill the US presidents gap between his ears.
Also a kick in the nuts for Donald Trumps business skills when he can't get his hands on all Ukraine's precious metals.
So is Zelensky worried? Possibly concerned some assistance might dry up, but America aren't the powerhouse they used to be gaps can be filled apart from those between Trumps ears.

I am not leftist or right wing or whatever,  I just evaluate a common sense approach,   and everything tells me this Trump & Vance was a set up to get at Zelensky.

They are morons for thinking the world would fall for it.

https://therecord.media/hegseth-orders-cyber-command-stand-down-russia-planning

Quote

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth last week ordered U.S. Cyber Command to stand down from all planning against Russia, including offensive digital actions, according to three people familiar with the matter.

Hegseth gave the instruction to Cyber Command chief Gen. Timothy Haugh, who then informed the organization's outgoing director of operations, Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Ryan Heritage, of the new guidance, according to these people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the matter’s sensitivity.

The order does not apply to the National Security Agency, which Haugh also leads, or its signals intelligence work targeting Russia, the sources said.

While the full scope of Hegseth’s directive to the command remains unclear, it is more evidence of the White House’s efforts to normalize ties with Moscow after the U.S. and international allies worked to isolate the Kremlin over its 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

It was a stitch up. I was prepared to give the American President the benefit of the doubt, and thought it was about Vance trying to create a crisis (knowing what emotiional buttons to push), just like when he tried(and failed) it on with the UK Prime Minister 24 hours earlier from the same seat.

But now, its clear, it was concocted pure reality TV show  theatrics, really to persuade some of the US Presidents supporters that its ok to kidnap 20,000 children. The current administration is placing more value on a bankrupt, literally and morally, Russian Federation over Ukraine and all the other Western democracies (no, its not a Europe thing, he hates Canada, he hates Australia, he hates New Zealand).

If the DoD is stepping down cyber defence against an adversary, it means either they are no longer an adversary, or the adversary has won. And this was done last week.

I said a while ago I thought Rubio would be the first to resign. Kellog will likely be fired, stripped of pension. Waltz I think is a basically decent man with strong moral values (and stronger credentials to be the Defence Secretary than the current incumbant), and he was also standing in that room, behind Vance.

The US President will likely stick to his pledge that during his tenure, no American soldier will die in battle. So that means Taiwan will fall, and it will likely fall without a shot, since the US will cut off aid through some concocted reason, such as they started it by fleeing in 1948.

They will give a flying f when they don't have any arty shells or down to 10 rounds, and the Russians are coming. Resilient or not, can't fight tanks with a bayonet.

Those other countries ( just the Euros- the rest of the world ain't joining in ) can't even afford 3% for their own military defense.

Witter on all you like about this and that, but only reality matters, and whatever the reason for the fiasco, only the outcome matters.

What happens to Ukraine if Musk cuts Starlink to that unfortunate country? No munitions, no coms- not looking good for the front line guys.
