A German magazine commented: It is the script of a TV show host who is experienced in staging. Trump had the conditions for a deal dictated to him by Putin: Ukraine must vacate all provinces in the east, no NATO troops can be stationed in Ukraine, and Ukraine must be demilitarized. Since Putin is not well-regarded as a deal partner even in the U.S., Trump can only sell this deal to his country if he humiliates Ukraine and portrays it as ungrateful and disgusting.

Marco Rubio was sitting next to JD Vance throughout the meeting. JD Vance caused that issue. If he had shut his mouth, there would have been no issue at all.

 

Look at the recording of the full meeting that I posted earlier and scroll to the 40 minute segment where JD Vance interjects himself into the conversation. Zelenskky asks if he can answer him directly, and when JD Vance gets owned, he starts shouting and getting emotional. Then Trump loses it and starts shouting about Hunter Biden and Russia hoaxes. It was just mortifyingly embarrassing. So now they are in full gaslighting mode, trying to make it out as being Zelenskky's fault. Those people are nauseating.

It was a setup. Trump - Vance - Rubio all sleazeball pro Putin traitors now.

If they actually believe that Putin will accept any "deal" that doesn't make it easier for him to take total control of Ukraine with at least a pro Russian puppet government is delusional. Yes, I get it, with the new Trump sphere of influence ideology they now only know that's Putin's intention, they flippin' support him in that!

 

Of course Putin never did need literal occupation of all of Ukraine. Having a puppet pro Russian government was and still is good for him.

Zelenskky presented Trump with a document highlighting that Putin has broken previous agreements, twenty five times.

There is no serious discussion from one side of the debate. There are only insults and tropes, but no detailed and intelligent discussion on any issue. Only rivalry. It's just childish and moronic. How can anyone trust the USA going forward? It's a divided country.

 

 

Well, Simai, firstly thanks for a cogent post, which I will now respond to in detail:

 

1) Zelensky presenting a document with 25 times the Russians were naughty is a bit like North Korea presenting a list of 25 grievances against South Korea. You have to consider the source. Can we believe everything Zelensky says? Obviously not. If you look at the LONG history of agreements between Russia and Ukraine you will see that it was in fact Ukraine who started not abiding by agreements made, which in turn led Russia to do likewise.

 

2) Indeed, as we saw Zelensky is HIGHLY argumentative, and blinded by hatred of Russia, so there can be little progres with him at the helm. No doubt his performance in the Oval Office will hasten his departure, a total fail if ever there was one.

 

3) Zelensky is indeed saying there should be NO discussion with Russia, only with him. Which frankly is moronic. Even Churchill said Jaw-Jaw is preferable to war-war, and Zelensky would do well to study this statement.

 

4) Russia's "aggressive actions" were preceded by Ukraine making clear it was about to switch alliances, and wanting to join NATO. Just as the USA had the right to invade Panama to protect its security sphere so Russia has the right to invade Ukraine to protect the Russia security sphere. Russia and the Ukraine were allies, the fact that this war happened is due in part largely to actions by Ukraine (and indeed the West).

 

5) Trump is not "capitulating", he is wisely trying secure peace to avoid women, children and soldiers being killed for no reason other than the chest thumping vanity of some. Those of us who are citizens of the world should be very thankful to Mr Trump for doing his utmost to avoid what Britain almost unwittingly precipitated, World War 3 due to misleading Ukraine.
