Just had an email from Kbank regarding bank transfer limits  Screenshot_20250306_105927_Gmail.jpg.970dd50047f81a705da6444e7d93bbd7.jpg introduced of 50000 bht per day  ..

Does this only mean from accounts in thailand only or include Transferring money ( gifts ) to my wifes bank account from outside thailand ??

I got this message too yesterday evening.

"via Kbiz transfer" sounds like it only affects the Kbank website?

Nothing to do with incoming money from abroad?

Nothing to do with transactions via the mobile app?

Not sure though.

One of the tasks for today to find out.

I started another topic on this yesterday.

It now appears that it only affects users of K-Biz website for customers transferring from their account to another account in Thailand. This makes sense, as the security on the website is less than on the app i.e. only user name and password needed to login to the website. This versus the app which requires setup with phone number, pin number, fingerprint (and maybe facial recognition) to initiate transfers. I wouldn't be surprised if they soon remove web access and go phone app only.

I transferred 250k from Wise into KBank yesterday, no issues at all.  This message is all about transfers out of a KBank account using K-Biz.

That's K BIZ (9for small businesses), you probably have K PLUS (for consumers)

K PLUS

What is the transaction limit for transfer, top-up and payment via K PLUS ?

The initial transaction limit per day is 100,000 baht. Customers may increase the daily limit to a maximum of 2,000,000 baht (no daily limit for transferring to your own account on K PLUS).

Indeed.  But a lot of individual consumers, myself included, were migrated to K-Biz when they shut down K-Cyber Banking.  Those that like to use a web based interface rather than phone app will still be using it.

That's why the limits are there. Too many stupid foreigners sending way too much money to Thais.

Well I am not stupid mate and I was to transfer money to my wifes account for a property investment so your dumb answers are not appreciated when a question is being asked..only intelligent replies are needed..

KPLUS maximum daily limit for me is 5,000,000 baht.

Yes, that appears to be the limit...

6.2.
Select “Transfer Limit” – maximum limit is Baht 5,000,000/day, and press “Confirm”

Thanks for your reply, but I think the section you are quoting is for a debit card - I don't have any Thai bank cards.

I think this is the relevant section for the KPLUS app.

This is part of the bank reg crackdown from early last year due to scamming and mule accounts. I believe most banks put a 50k limit on transfers out of the accounts unless you go in and added facial recognition or a 2 level authorization feature. It was all over the news last year. Shouldn't affect transfers inbound although their may be a limit at either your Thai bank or your origin bank on that

In other words, alienate a significant part of their customer base in exactly the same way as SCB and KTB have done. 😟

Nobody uses the website banking apart from geriatrics. The phone app is more secure and useful.
