Almost hit the "laugh" meme but ... that would not be totally honest. While I have room to agree, in part, I also believe there are causes I would support. "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

And who decides who is the friend and who is the foe?

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Corbyn considered Hamas his friends.

The future of AI.

I understand that AI requires lots of energy (electricity) and "rare minerals".

Funnily enough Canada has both!

Then of course Greenland and Ukraine...

Has Canada decided which country the US has to go to war with in order to get those minerals yet?

Let me know when you hear anything...

You dont know that and are presumptuous to say the least. The Us has vested interests in Taiwan. So it seems more feasible that the US would protect its assets there.

My “ presumption” is based on numerous times Trump refused to say he will defend Taiwan before and after he was POTUS. He even suggested that he would not defend Taiwan when asked the question. All on record and you can glean those comments quite easily.

I understand he is being non-committal about it recently. But that is a completely different balloon that the war with Russia and Ukraine.. Different stakes are at play with Taiwan.

I recommend caution with that argument,

Shall we file that under ‘Under estimating  an adversary’?!

Im not a military planner. I made an informed comment.

In America, the plan doesnt survive the first shot.

Under Socialism, the plan stays until the Dear Leader changes it.

Part of the plan and the immediate changes thereto that WE can make on even an Army level is the recognition of the weakness of your opponent. Socialistic inflexibility is a weakness. Look at Stalingrad.

The one between Ukraine and Russia.

It's ongoing. All parties have acknowledged talks. Unfortunately for you, peace deals don't tend to be streamed live on The Guardian's YouTube channel.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Seems to me that Trump is putting more oil on the fire, and not only with the Ukraine.

Trump Planning On Canceling Legal Status For 240,000 Ukrainians Who Fled War With Russia, Report Says

Trump signed an executive order on Jan. 20 requesting the Department of Homeland Security to “terminate all categorical parole programs.” The Trump administration is expected to revoke temporary legal status for migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela who flew to the U.S. with American sponsors, CBS News reported, citing internal government documents. The move would affect over 530,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans. Some 77,000 Afghans who escaped the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan are also covered under the parole programs.

Trump doesn't need advice on that, he's bullying those countries already

When you say bullying, I assume you mean matching the tariffs they put on American goods?

You obviously do.

I don't even know what you really think.

I only know what you post on here which is disingenuous nonsense. I don't believe for one second that you actually believe what you post (from any of your usernames) 😄

No , he flip-flopped again. Delayed the tariffs against Canada and Mexico. Again!

😄😄😄.

I have never suggested Trump should involve the US military in UK affairs.

But you already knew that...

Biggest problem the UK would have if he ever decided to invade would be where to keep all the pow's.

Jonny, this is a discussion forum.

If you don’t want to read opinions that upset you, don’t read them.

Nobody is forcing you to read anything here, it’s all your own choice.

Why would you repeating The Guardian's views on every issue upset me? 😄

It's entertaining.

Question: So what does this have to do with China preparing for war with the US?
Answer:  Not a da*m thing.

China is not ready for war. The Confucianism burnt into the Socialism imposed on their society precludes the ability to wage successful warfare, and their economy, dependent on masses of low paid labour cannot afford an extended war.
