Has Thailand Long Surpassed the West in Terms of Quality of Life?

Who didn't?

Perhaps you failed to understand anything at all.

Let's go back. You told an anecdote about a particular hospital that charges foreigners 500 baht. My advice was to avoid that particular hospital if you cannot afford the 500 baht.

Is that too difficult for you? It seems that you are just searching for a way to complain about something.

Pattaya City Hospital is not the only choice in town. You aren't forced to go there. But if it's the closest to where you live, then you can choose to pay 500 baht for the convenience or simply go further afield. Not everyone lives on Soi Bua Khao.

It's not a Thailand thing. It's you. @BritManToo pays 50 baht. I don't remember paying any premium when I chose to visit a government hospital and I rarely go anywhere early in the morning. So the oft spoken untruth about having to go early in the morning and to wait all day, has not ever applied to any of my visits. Good service and not expensive.

Some people are prone to making problems for themselves.

You wouldn't even be here.......you even said it yourself that because you previously earned £9k per month it enabled your lifestyle here.

You need to read my post carefully...maybe then you will understand

I think so.

- Socialism is ruining the West. Extreme cost of living crisis,  ironically.

- High crime and getting worse. Dangerous for women and kids, especially.

-Many unpleasant people in public

- Crippled national healthcare systems and other public services.

- Filthy streets

- Dumb politicians. No freedom of speech. Open borders. Islamification.

- Development has stopped. It's just regressing, despite high taxes.

- Woke <deleted> everywhere.

- Too cold half of the year

- The women are mostly unattractive and unfeminine. They also have very bad attitudes. No sense of fun, unless it involves getting wasted on booze.

Did I miss anything?

The only negatives I can think of for Thailand are:

- It's a bit too hot for a few months of the year.

- The roads are really dangerous.

- Poor air quality half of the year

- The women are mostly not suitable for marriage or motherhood.

- A lot of people are dishonest and untrustworthy.

- Thailand is losing its charm and character with gentrification.

Regarding Private Hospitals and Emergency Departments in Australia I Don't know how many do have them but the Mater Hospital in Townsville does have one but is probably not much use because it's hours are 7am until 10 pm. It would be fair to say that most people go to emergency after these hours when the Drs.surgeries are closed.

I am guessing most private hospitals in Australia don't have ED's because they are not profitable. Costs of staff in Thailand are lower.

I really can't think of a single private hospital in Victoria that has an ED.

But there isn't always a direct correlation to "more wealth = more contentment".

Some people are contented with way less.

Westerners can get obsessed with being rich and getting rich and make themselves miserable in the process.

My opinion is the reason those who are content with way less is because they never had way more, those that did are not content but just putting on a brave face.
The trait of being obsessed with being rich definitely applies to Thais as well, if not even more so. Many Thais are obsessed with the "face" issue and will get in to heavy debt just to try and portray their wealth.

Admit it you are obviously referencing the ones you have pulled, because the attractive. feminine, intelligent and adventurous ones wouldn't give you the time of day.

It was a farang outside the hospital who told me what happened to him, did I not say that? Are hospitals not like banks and immigration offices who just make up their own rules?

This is Thailand.

Nah, my country has way way higher overweight and obese people than Thailand.

And Thai women definitely embrace the traditional feminine role when with a man, which I'm sure is not so common anymore in the West.

Just look around the tourist areas in Thailand to see farang couples. The guy often looks in decent shape and probably fairly handsome, but he is walking with some frumpy ogre. It's hilarious 😂

I've noticed that too, the guys must be kicking themselves when they see what's available locally!

I presume that simple Yes or No answer cannot be made in that respect.

As it is greatly up to where they are born.

If they are born among the affluent family with the descent parents, their level of happiness can surpass the west.

Also because of the less-stressful society of this kingdom

But if they were not that fortunate(born extremely poor with the parents lacking human qualities), life will be a lot different; series of hardship from childhood is more likely.

It is applicable to any nations though.
