In the wake of Pol. Col. Thitisan "Joe Ferrari" Uttanaphon’s mysterious death at Klong Prem Central Prison, the chief guard has been reassigned to the general administration department. The decision, announced today, comes from Mr. Phedchet Hringrot, the acting commander of the prison.

Joe Ferrari, notorious for his collection of luxury cars, was found hanged with a towel, prompting an internal shakeup. Mr. Sitthiphon Kaewkhambong, previously overseeing Zone 7, has been moved during the ongoing investigation into the incident.

A fact-finding committee has been established to delve into the circumstances surrounding the death. Joe Ferrari gained notoriety as the former Mueang Nakhon Sawan police superintendent. His high-profile indictment in June 2022 resulted in a life sentence, originally a death sentence for the brutal torture and murder of a drug suspect using plastic bags—a sentence reduced due to mitigating factors.

The reassignment and inquiry underline the importance of transparency and accountability within the Thai correctional system, especially in high-profile cases like this. The prison authority's swift actions reflect their aim to uncover the truth behind the dramatic turn of events, reported Thai Newsroom.

Many people wanted Epstein dead. Less sure about a motive for murder in Joe Ferrari's case.

He had accomplices in accumulating his wealth and cars from bonuses paid to him for "finding" illegally imported cars and drug seizures and shakedowns of drug runners. He kept his mouth shut in exchange for a prison sentence rather than the death penalty. Perhaps someone was worried about him opening his mouth to get a reduction or release. They called him Joe Ferrari on the outside and Joe the Director on the inside, so he had some pull while in prison.

He held a plastic bag over a man's head until the guy died. What the hell was the "mitigating factor"?   "I confused his head with a trash bin"?

Maybe an environmentally friendly plastic bag? 😆

Or maybe his agreement to spill the beans, hence the 'suicide'.

Who knows.
