For every PhD in physics, there are twenty in ethic or gender studies, or “education”.

Government money just drives the cost up. Way too many people getting useless degrees.

Brilliant kids have not had any difficulty getting scholarships in my lifetime.

I agree with you.

Most Social Science is ....

GARBAGE

Yes...WEED THEM OUT.....

Send them, instead, to a Country Club.

But make them pay.

“To use some of the words I hear from tour company members of the National Tour Association, the drop-off is ‘astronomical’ when speaking about Canadians booking group travel to the United States,” said Catherine Prather, president of the Kentucky-based organization, which specializes in group tours.

One National Tour Association member operator reported just two bookings for U.S. tours in the past two weeks compared to 39 bookings during the same period in 2024, she said. Another Canadian operator, with 85 per cent of their business focused on tours to the U.S., had to scrap every U.S. departure for March, April and May due to client cancellations.

The only way to deal with a bully is to hit back twice as hard.

TBH, I can't think of a single American product I either want or need.

Surely you would like this USA made car and would want one ?

But its USA made, so don't buy that car for that reason .

Be part of the boycott and do not buy this car

Even if you think the Trump tariffs are unjust  and they maybe in certain circumstances why the hell do you want to inflict more hardship by doing virtually the same thing to American companies ?

Tell Trump to ask that question to the US companies who will suffer because of his unknown on/off/on again what is it next policies!

Don't ask us, who do not live in the US,  if the Idiot wants to ruin the US economy.

That is the US's problem caused by Trump and nothing to do with the rest of the world.

The US is only a minor player relative to the size of the rest of the world.

It would not matter to me where it is made as there is no way I could/would drive that in Thailand unless I had a Billionaire father to provide the brown envelopes after my first accident.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a prediction: Someday, non American enterprises are going to come up with their own versions of sports cars and racing cars. I'm even going to go out further on that limb and predict that they will be manufactures with names like McLaren, Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini Bugatti, etc

But until that happens, I guess the world will be stuck with what America has to offer.

So, Will you be buying  an Italian made Ferrari instead of a US made car to be involved with the boycott ?

Or would you be boycotting KFC and McDonalds ?

Real Americans don’t care. I got your boycott right here. We’re focused on fixing America. If you don’t like us anymore thats fine. President Trump’s popularity is as high as it’s ever been and i’m happy with my vote for him and what he’s accomplished so far. He’s doing everything i voted for. He was given the biggest mandate in US history with a landslide election win over crooked Joe Biden. He also won in 2020 and that was a stolen election. It worked out better this way anyway. God deflected that bullet that was meant for his head too.

Non Americans just can’t seem to grasp that their opinion of our president means nothing to us, not when we look around our country and see things need fixing everywhere. Fake friends and allies to begin with.

Just for once, I decided to click on the show this post, and right away I recalled why I had you on ignore.

Maybe, so what? How about people working for American companies and voting for Trump?

Again read the forum rules, your repetition of uninformed views are tedious. What goes  on in USA, even domestically, can flow through to international policy decisions. I I am concerned US domestic policy decisions are setting very poor examples for Western democracies with the creeping authoritarian trends in the US.

Are they tossing people in jail for mean Tweets like in Europe?

Buy American, boycott Chinese goods

If you buy a Ford, many are made in Mexico. If you buy a Honda, some are made in USA. If you buy a Chevy, most of the parts are Chinese!

There is no "Buy American" ... That's a catch phrase for the uninformed.

it's a Global economy and people who don't understand that virtually nothing is "all made in America" are the ones who got bamboozled into thinking Donald Trump is actually going to look out for the interests of the American people.

Even Donald Trumps swag is mostly made in China ... I mean Gyna!

His "Make America Great Again" guitar is NOT made in America! Most of it is made in China!!

In general you are correct.  It is a global economy.  Because I despise the Chinese government (not it's people) I do try to buy made anywhere else.  Good luck buying any electronic that doesn't have some Chinese parts or labor.

However, my guitars would dispute your assertion.    While the wood might be imported (Indian rosewood, mahogany, etc) the work is 100% USA.  Mind you that is for higher end instruments.  And I also owned a Yamaha guitar in Thailand made in Japan that was a fine instrument so not a guitar bigot here.  😃

No Apple or Android devices? Aside from that nothing that uses Nvidia, AMD, Marvell, Intel chips?

BTW, I am an American. I view resisting the Trump administration as an act of patriotism, much like the Indian boycotts against British colonial rule were acts of patriotism. I like the description of this grassroots movement as "shadowy," a movement without a figurehead which can be targeted, something you can't put a finger on. Amorphousness seems to be adding to the fear factor. Just ask Elon if you don't think that's true.

Check this out. He was selling a Donald Trump signature model guitar .. NOT made in USA! LOL. This is a short video but there are some long video reviews of this cheapazz Donald Trump guitar. For the slow thinking picker!!

I get your point though. I'm not a big fan of Chinese politics or the people there in general because of a lot of the bad apples I see around Thailand. I've met some fine Chinese people who immigrated to the USA and have done well for themselves and contribute a lot to the economy and US based businesses. Quite a few in Silicon Valley where I worked for a number of years.
