I am planning to drive from CM to Buriram by car with 1 one-night stop at Phitsanulok. Do you have any idea if driving around 7 April will be fine in terms of Songkran traffic? When it usually begins and ends.

I plan to go on 6-7th April and come back 20th April.

I don't want to get caught in traffic madness before or after Songkran.

Does anyone know if the dates for my trip are fine?

Songran, and allowing for one extra day before and after, should be no longer than Apr. 11 - 17.  You will be fine.

I did that drive back in 2007 from Lamtamanchai to CM (about 20 kms from Buriram)

I cannot tell you how long that drive is.....it was before sat navs in Thailand so we were using maps......I said to her we cant be that far away and 5 minutes later big signpost comes up

Chang Mai 398 kms  😂

Its a very very very long drive and dont recommend it even with an overnight stop

Dates are OK.

It's about 870 km.

400 km to Phitsanulok.

Doable in two daylight rides.

I do 560 km to Pattaya and not dead on arrival.
