France Blocks UK from €150bn EU Defence Fund Amid Growing Tensions
'They need us more than we need them'. Yet again. I'm stunned anyone's still daring to come out with this long ago discredited bilge. Even after 9 years no one seems to grasp it. Same old same old. And the decline continues 'apace' as the pols say nowadays. I guess it's just really hard to face the fact that the UK no longer belongs to the family now it's a common or garden third country. The country now also facing a serious essential medicines shortage caused by a 20% drop in EU imports since before the referendumb. The UK at the bottom of the G7 list for medical imports. Similar picture for exports. Key factor? (Nuffield Trust): Brexit. And AN's political scientologists now blaming Starmer and 'Labour'. And seriously think that mental pygmies and second rate bog wallahs like Farage, Badenoch and Yaxley-Lennon are the answer. Hint: They are all symptoms of something else that has yet to be addressed properly. Sad sad sad what has happened to the country I grew up in. The only place I've ever travelled to (the Midlands a few months ago) where they think they are 'world leading', but have business class lounges without even a sodding toilet to use. (And I mean without one, not under repair, broken whatever - simply no toilets.) The '3 Star' hotel charging 4 star prices that doesn't even offer a sodding dressing gown and slippers, never mind a phone, much less room service. Don't get me started on the waterways - they make the Chao Praya look like spa water. It will gradually sink in I hope that nobody needs the UK. It should have been clear by now to anyone with an ounce of nous. And until it has sunk in there cannot be any change in direction. By then though I suspect it will probably be too late to reverse the decline. There's certainly no evidence of anyone in public life right now with the necessary vision, wisdom or acumen to pull that off. And there's no sign amongst the population at large - and I listened to quite a few tales and whinges - that there is anyone even interested in genuine change. Sad. Really sad. You have the exactly the leaders you all deserve. Mind you, the 'King's golden carriages are sooo impressive. Totally pretty. And all those horses! More than the entire US Army owns! One of the few 'public services' that didn't see any cuts at all. Whaddaya know. Just a shame the nurses and firefighters cheering him on had to race home after the big parade before the food banks closed. Back to baked beans on toast like in the 70s. Decline? - Delicious! -

So now they are terrorists.
You really haven't a clue. Please educate us and cite the law that says that. Under federal immigration law, unlawful presence in the USA is a civil offense. The civil penalty for being in the USA is deportation, or removal, which the U.S. Supreme Court has held is not “criminal punishment.” Source: CT Gov website. https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/ocpd/child_protection/training/day3/immigrationcheatsheetbysnhforgalamcclasspdf.pdf Given the choice of taking legal counsel from legal experts or the opinion of an uneducated person, I will listen to the legal experts. And even if the people are legally subject to deportation, sending them to a foreign prison without due process, without a legal hearing is a wrongful act. These deportees will be held without trial in a prison known for its human rights abuses and high rate of physical harm to inmates. The issue is not the deportation of people who should be deported. Rather, it is the intentional violation of their basic human rights. They are being incarcerated for indefinite periods without any trial or access to legal rights. If they were convicted of a crime in the jurisdiction where they are to be detained, fine, but they were not. -

British Tourist's Thai Jail Ordeal: Forced to Drink Urine for Survival
At his GoFundMe page: 1) he said he was "set up by a local and being asked to drive her vehicle which then landed him up being arrested and locked up for four days in a Thai holding at the police station". This setup included drugging him. 2) his mother wrote: "we know Lewis was drugged in Thailand with a drug that he said just gave him a over whelming feeling of psychosis". He wasn't drugged at the police station with this hallucination causing drug or on his own. He was drugged by the woman who set him up and asked him to drive her car. Many of your replies to this post about this man, who was very much a victim, were cruel, very unfair, and off base! He is not a drug addict, he is gainful employed in the UK, and a reputable person. Go read his story at his GoFundMe page ( https://www.gofundme.com/f/lewis-green-ordeal-in-thailand?qid=60033ad7238c655fe11f78b7a179e367 ) because the story was described her in this forum on Aseannow.com is poorly written, misleading, and very ambiguous in its description of what occurred. -
