Yeah my AirPods rate like that. The first 80% charge in five minutes. Tesla will be able to do this themselves fairly easily as well. It would be a game changer for the industry more than any single company. If what BYD says is true they may license and sell the battery itself. 

 

TSLA is going to make a killing on robo-taxis, which anre getting anpproval in China, that's why the stock popped today and are well ahead in that area. I don't think Elon is all that interested in just being a car company. His next project is starship meant to be an interstellar rock/spaceship that can carry several hundred people. Apparently he will have it ready in a couple of years. Tesla isn't just a direct to consumers car company. 

 

If BYD announced that just lately and Tesla still climbed 13.5% today that tells you something.

Vancouver car show sets attendance records after Tesla ban, defying boycott calls

VANCOUVER - Organizers of the Vancouver International Auto Show say the event broke attendance records after it attracted international headlines for banning Tesla on safety grounds.

Supporters of the electric car company and CEO Elon Musk had called for a boycott of the show, but organizers say it instead set a new five-day attendance record of more than 138,000. 

They say in a news release that Saturday’s attendance of more than 42,000 at the Vancouver Convention Centre also broke the one-day attendance record.

 

The show’s executive director, Eric Nicholl, said last week that Tesla was removed from participating out of concern for the safety of workers, attendees and exhibitors.

Kathy wood the other day saying tesler would hit 26,000 soon.   Robo taxis going online soon and blah blah blah.   As of a few days ago at 240 they say 4 billion has been retail buyers.  Hit 290 last couple days.  Down 16 yesterday .   Premarket 273 today.

What about the roadster that's 8 years late.   And so many people not getting refunds on cancelled orders? Only 50 k CTs made of 1 million 100$ pre order deposits.  100% in recall.   Elon bet on optics lidar.  Sales off so much in all markets.  US sales figures out April 4 th.

I just don't understand the value in taxis.   Most of us never use a taxi.   I've taken maybe 6 ubers in my life to the airport. The only taxi I've ever taken in my life  in the states was 1 or 2 during a weeks vacation in NYC.   Oh and one family trip we took a taxi to from the airport in Florida . And. 1 way in Denver.

Taxi=Uber that is the model. He could buy Lyft for example, or more likely Uber or similar in China will be the app that aggregates the demand and Tesla is listed on it with others. Uber is so common now it is a verb and has virtually replaced the term taxi in modern usage in the USA. 

 

Everybody uses Uber here and I mean everybody. Most young people do not want to buy a car and have no interest in driving. 

 

Eliminating the human driver saves money but more than that makes it so robo taxis can just sit idle and parked. That would make it practical to have them even in smaller towns with less demand. I would love to see the day I don't need to own my own car because I can get one in a reasonable time and just pay for a small trip.

 

The robo taxi wouldn't argue over fares, distance, could be summoned with one button appear almost immediately and doesn't require a tip. The idea would be to replace car ownership for a good percentage of the country.

 

That isn't even counting the delivery business.
