Tonight was a complete and utter nightmare...

I had just arrived back in the big smoke after a nice few days away with my good friend peter.

I felt a bit peckish so I headed to one of the most famous sois in the capital and sat at one of the most well known restaurants...

Waitress right from the off had a face on her, she looked absolutely furious.

then I ordered a pint of lager and she asked "how drunk are you?"

I said what the hell are you on about (this was my first pint of the day)

she said we have a policy that we don't serve drunk customers.....

bear in mind this was in the busiest soi in one of the busiest restaurants in the busiest part of town  - everyone there was drunk to some extent, but this was my first pint...

I was also starving, so I ordered a nice hearty meal as well.

when the pint came over she literally threw it at me and gave me a snarling look - at which point i said stick yer pint and food up yer arse, im going to the american joint round the corner, which I did and it was delightful. No fuss, no drama, just chili dogs and chili fries galore with bud on tap....

what the hell is going on here at all?

if a waitress behaved that way in the west she would at the very least get a firm dose of the verbals, or even worse get spat on..

They really need to up their game - I can't wait till low season when they are all skint and desperate again.

regards,

bob.

Maybe you just have that "I am a drunk" look about you.  Many alcoholics have the look.  Their heads are miss shaped,  faces very wrinkled, glassy out of it eyes.  Add general " alcoholic face" puffiness, dark circles, look old, redness/flush.

Some report a semi deformity.   Kind of a mentally retarded look.

And, some do not change their clothes from their drunk the day before.  Bad stench of booze.

so on a pub street, it's a policy not to serve people who have had a drink??

I just don't get it.

Which town/city are you referring to?

There are many with that "nickname" around the world.

With your extravagant lifestyle having become so rich there is no way to keep track of your travels.

You didn't according to you as you were in the bar not in the street,  Get your story right,

Were you at a roadside "bar" and were refused a drink. Or inside a bar and refused to drink your drink?

Which is it?

If the sh!t was true most people would realise that they had the problem with the rest of the world and not the way "Blob" tells it!

I guess if I was lurching into 2 or 3 tables on my way to my seat, a waitress might look askance at me.

It was your ex-wife, Bob. Didn’t you recognise her?

It's low season now, isn't it?

But not for it's never ending pointless imaginary (lack of) experience postings.

It should rename itself "Calamity Bob". (or whatever name it is using today) after all the so called self created encounters/scrapes it claims to get in to.

Your wording means that she actually threw it at you. Is that true?

Well, that's it then. Nobody was there who knew just how much you think of yourself! Send in your entourage first so they know just who will be arriving!

Bob, just avoid all restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs, gyms, coffee shops, cafes, massage shops, hotels, shopping malls, markets, street food stalls, beaches, temples, parks, convenience stores, taxis, buses, boats, sidewalks, rooftops, hospitals, police stations, and anywhere with people, air, or gravity. Problems solved! Unless it’s in Soi 6 and there is a ladyboy standing out in front, then simply don’t enter. Or try the back door instead.

You forgot to mention toilets !

Some of these Thai staff are getting ruder

I find the young Thai girl the worst ,I think they have chip on their shoulders

The worst was the receptionist at the Jomtien medical clinic yesterday

She is kept making sighing noises if I asked a question

If not one of your usual imaginary tales you had obviously been there before and they recognized you and treated you with the contempt you seemingly deserved!

Well done for the waitress to even try and serve you.

You off course, in the real world, paid for the lager and the food before storming out.

Before storming out. Hahaha. That was hilarious

You should have called the waitress, explained to her she is a rude person and made your experience unpleasant, and that is why you are leaving.

Educate her. Before you leave.

Otherwise she may have just thought you had to to to  an appointment for alcoholics anonymous.

Maybe you need to take a good look at yourself.

She may be offended by your unwashed look and aroma

If you decide to go to a restaurant that appears from your post to serve alcoholics what would you expect? Bangkok and Thailand in general has some amazing restaurants that actually serve food on a plate.
