Thailand Holds Off on 30-Day Visa-Free Change Decision
Agreed. One would think they'd have a database containing the origin of the majority of troublemakers who are most likely to partake in illegal activities and act accordingly. However, it seems that the most dishonest cultures with their filthy habits, the most disliked by Thais, are from countries given preferential treatment and extended stays. It's all about the money and little to do with safety and protecting Thai culture. -

Depositing gold at Hua Seng Heng
We are in Thailand, so the official measure is baht, (15.244 gram), and I compare the spread with the Thai gold trader association, and other Thai gold shops. Another one who is scared of his own shadow, If they wanted to roll it, they sure would have had many chances in the past 70 years. -

Can Americans afford vacations anymore?
The real source of debt and deficit is excessive government spending. If you look at the spending graph, you will note that spending went up during COVID-19 and never returned to the old baseline. Looking at the revenue graph, you will see that in 2022, Joe Biden recorded revenues and still had a considerable deficit. This was because he and the Dems kept on spending after COVID ended. Note that revenues tanked in 2023 and 2024 under Joe Biden. The USA will continue to have huge deficits if the current spending levels are maintained. -

Does the inequality ever make you uncomfortable?
I understand you and sometimes share your thoughts. It can gnaw at the soul. My mechanism of coping is to be generous to some charities, especially animals. I try to smile when dealing with service staff like cashiers and cleaners etc. Politeness is appreciated by the Thais, especially the face thing. I have to check myself from raising my voice but sometimes they are so hearing deficient, I have no choice. However, to be honest, I often avert my eyes from some of them as I can't handle it, especially the old frail people and the kids who look neglected. I can't save the world, but I can be a better person.
