Having a love relationship in your 72's with Thai lady and only income is American SS

I really ponder upon this matter due to a Thai lady has entered my life on a very poverty level, yet a level of understanding that ones belief in themself is and can be the virtue of a bank account that is small and has no bearing of a genuine relationship.

Your thoughts.

You need to stop posting topics basically repeating the same question.

A genuine connection often thrives on mutual understanding and shared values rather than economic circumstances.  It's important to appreciate the inner qualities she brings into the relationship, such as resilience and self-belief.  These attributes can create a strong foundation for a meaningful bond.

I also think you are overthinking the whole situation and overanalysing.

I tried to do a bit of translating for you:

Is it possible for a 72 year old man to have a relationship with a Thai lady, even though his income is only from social security?

I often ponder this issue, due to the fact that a Thai lady has entered my life, who is basically living in poverty.  However, she seems to have the attitude that the confidence and belief one has in themselves can be more important that the amount of money they have in their bank account, which really has no bearing on a genuine relationship.

What do others think about this?

Personally, I would think that even a guy on social security can give this woman a better life, and that is why she is interested in this man.  Unless you can verify your income and hers, and whether she is asking you for any kind of payment.

As I said before, you need to be a little more clear and direct, if you want to get decent replies.

Let's not forget the value to both of them in terms of companionship, concern etc., let alone a few extra Baht.

Absolutely.  I think there's always a possibility that it might not be completely about money.  Thailand seems like the kind of place where age is far less of an important factor in a relationship, so it's totally possible that a woman could find a man 17 years older than her to be a reasonable prospect, even if he only has a modest income.  Especially considering that a woman 17 years older than a 72 year old man is no spring chicken herself, and is unlikely to be beating men off with a stick.

Single women over about 30 or 40 tend to be quite active in looking for a man (if they want one), so who knows?  Add to this the fact that Thai men probably show little interest in older women, and it's really all to play for.

I think the OP is maybe feeling a little insecure, but perhaps doesn't want to be direct about it, so he's posting multiple vague threads on the same topic and asking for "thoughts".

The OP has a great opportunity to find out if this love is real: Tell the lady that he is living on a very limited income.

Depending on the reaction of the lady, he will know "what is what". No more guesswork needed.

First, let's stop puting all Thais into one bucket. It really depends on the girl. Life will always be explained by a bell curve. For example "most" but "not all" poor farm girls only date foreigners for their money. I have met both. Most of them had their hidden agendas, but not all. Keep in mind that most Thai girls know their social position and they have few positive opportunities with a Thai man if they are poor. So, maybe you find a winner!

Maybe possible with American social security for all I know, but definitely not possible with a British frozen state pension, though.

Totally agree, it depends on the Thai girl. If she lost her father early and has a fond memory of him she may develop a taste for older men and this is more acceptable in Thailand.

I am talking about normal ages now, not 72 or 89. If you're that old, well just try not to die.
