Slashing of the body is not uncommon for the mentally ill. They can hack their wrists, cut off body parts and yes, cut their own throats
Seems you have no idea what happened.
Or they were already oredisposed to mental illness and the illness followed its natural course.
It has already been reported that he had been offered help in Germany and declined. He chose not to take his medications and he chose to enter Thailand. Had Germany attempted to stop him, it would have violated his civil rights, and Germany did not share his medical information with Thailand because it would have violated his right to privacy. The responsibility actually rests with the spouse who did not report him to the Thai authorities. They could have forced him to return to Germany, or prove that he was on his medications to avoid deportation.
Calling Centrelink around 8am Tasmanian time (4-5am Bangkok time) usually results in an immediate connection. While wait times increase later in the day, they rarely surpass 30 minutes. Be aware that you may be connected to an agent in another state during peak Tasmanian call volume, potentially leading to less helpful service.

Knife for suicide is not the usual, but depending on his mental state, not a big surprise. But for this to be murder especially in that locale, unless it's unrelated, that's a question. The part about the guard dogs suggests that no one would have gotten close enough. But who knows. I have a mental illness which I manage, so these things are very sad. I don't have a Thai partner, I often wonder how a Thai person would respond to mine, would they be capable of understanding my ups and downs, though they are not particularly severe. RIP.
